  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 01:22 AM) Damnit mid-1900s White Sox.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 08:38 AM) And that looks like a fake cast/sling. Wow, I didn't even look twice. Clearly, it is.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 08:09 AM) Yes, it's the 15 year old Russian figure skater. Except that it's not. That's a 25 year old Finnish figure skater named Kiira Korpi. And she's a babe, and it should be drawn to everyone's attention. CBS did nothing wrong, there.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 06:28 AM) We had better weather at 12,000 feet in the god damned rockies than we do in Chicago. This is miserable. Thanks a lot, Obama!
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Edit: NSFW due to language, lot of swears in the video. Don't blast your speakers. Hockey related, so let's throw it here. The video will tell you what you need to know. http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/Canada/Manitoba/ID/2437738025/ http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/hoc...coach-1.2540097 To me, it's tough to tell if the ref purposely threw him down, or if he grabbed him and then slipped and fell on him. Either way, I must say, all these parents can go to hell. I see this in youth sports all the time. Your kid or team acts like a bunch of idiots, and what's the first thing they do? Try to find the ref/umpire at fault for either causing it, not breaking it up, breaking it up too forcefully, etc. You can hear the woman beforehand, "get your hands of our kids." Hey, idiot, the refs are there to break up fights, they kinda sorta have to put hands on your stupid, fighting 12 year olds in order to break it up, no? It is 100% acceptable for refs to "touch your kids" to break up a fight. The end. If they let them just wail on each other, they'd be in the wrong, too, and get yelled at that for that. "Break it up!" Criminal charges? Seems ridiculous to me, but whatever. Your kids started the whole thing by fighting (or something along those lines), then continuing to slash. Maybe I'm an asshole, but the kid had what was coming to him after the thing was done and he decided to keep slashing. You want criminal charges? Guess what, the coach who left the bench to start hitting the ref could face them, too, if you want to play that game. Assaulting a referee/umpire can face some major charges. Oh, and how about the little prick kids slashing the ref with their sticks? I wish the video was more clear, but even if he grabbed the kid and brought him down to separate him, IMO, he's within his rights to do so to isolate the kid and make him not a problem. If there was no injury, I think this should be a non-issue. In hockey, there have been instances where refs end up on top of guys wrestling them to the ice - I've played in travel games and HS games where this happened. Hell, I probably was the guy being isolated at some point. You put the ref in one hell of a spot, and of course, your angel kids can do no wrong. I don't agree that he should be slamming people to the ice on purpose, or to hurt them, certainly, but I think criminal charges is giant load of s*** at this point, and I hope he doesn't get in trouble for it. But, again, from that video, I'm not 100% positive he slammed him to the ice on purpose, though from the once bouncy angle it looks like it. Anyway, gotta love youth sports and parents. Sometimes it's a wonder anyone wants to ref or umpire games for kids with the s*** pay and the abuse you take (I'm not just talking about this incident). Myself included. Watching that video makes me want to vomit. That little fat piece of s*** Kainan Bell goes to start a fight, the ref goes to stop him, slips, and lands on the kid. The f***ing hillbilly horrible mother screaming the f-bomb well before the incident is 10x worse. Mistakes happen. Parents in sports can be brutal, and this is one of the worst examples I've seen. For those parents to proudly release that video is sickening, given how they look in it. I like how their kid has such horrific injuries that they are yelling "WE GOT YOU REF!" and not even bothering to see if their kid is actually alright. F*ck everything about this story.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 04:12 PM) I'd settle for one good one. 670 is solid. They need to get rid of Mac, though.
  7. God damn, waking up at 6 to watch USA Hockey the last two days spoiled me. Now I'm suck at work like a loser.

I'm over TWD. Same s*** over and over. There's nothing exciting about slow ass zombies being bludgeoned in the head anymore.
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) 3 are at one rink, 1 at the other. They could at least stagger the start times instead of two puck drops exactly the same. Listen to the guy who ignores PMs.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Enjoy it. Three weeks from now it's going to be all about spring training numbers and Hawk for the 2934833 year in a row talking about how much he likes the Sox chances. I tell you what. In all mah time, I've never seen a squad that looked this good in Spring Training. Robin's really got em fired up. The last time I felt like this Stone Pony was before 2005, datgummit.
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 09:34 AM) More insight on times for upcoming games: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-dad...-115001059.html Ugh, why do two quarterfinal matchups have to be on at the exact same time?
  12. Darren Sharper suspected in 7 rapes, 11 druggings in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Arizona, Los Angeles At least he's not gay, though. Then we'd have a problem.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) I can't believe the snowboard cross chick crashed with such a big lead, brutal. Some people are born to choke.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 08:19 AM) they are aiming at young and hip, not old, meatball, and racist. So, enter Harry? That fat little dweeb hasn't had anything new or exciting to contribute in two decades other than drunken public appearances and DUIs.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 12:21 AM) I thought the first episode of house of cards was amazing. It's was pretty lackluster after that but it's starting to pick up steam again. Just finished episode 10. Sweet Christ, you are a power-user. I finished episode 2 this am.
  16. Jesus, how does Harry Teinowitz continue to get paid to talk?
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 07:32 AM) WGN Radio is launching a sports/talk station on FM. Ah, piggybacking off the popularity of Q87.7 and snagging that spot with them moving full-time back to 101.1 at 1:01 today.
  18. Games like this make you realize these men are Gods.
  19. Robocop was pretty darn entertaining.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 07:44 AM) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1961187...stars-challenge Bulls coulda had Hardaway Jr. Sigh Wait. So Tim Hardaway Jr goes off in a game with no defense and suddenly the Bulls missed out on a stud? Make me vomit. Both he and Waiters suck, and a rec league game doesn't change that. I'm not in love with Snell, but he'll definitely wind up being an all-around better player than Hardaway Jr.
  21. If Russia can't dominate this first game in front of the home crowd, they better start planning for Bronze. USA is extremely composed and patient.
