  1. I have to imagine there will be a lot of CGI involved to pull off Apocalypse. He needs to be about 9 feet tall.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) I thought the same at first, but it's not like he has total control of them. Not to mention . Even though he has control of them, it was always an uneasy feeling. Like he was never fully in control of them and that worked for me. I'm just talking about that being hte big PLAN. What a great idea. LOL.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 01:16 PM) Lmao Apocalypse looks like s*** This: Reminds me of this: That. That's just bad.
  4. Will we ever see a 300-strikeout pitcher again? It's been a while, with the last two 300-strikeout seasons coming in 2002, from teammates Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson, who struck out a combined 650 batters, or five more than all 12 Twins starting pitchers combined for last year. After two pitchers did it in the same season, it's been 13 years since the last 300-strikeout pitcher. Can Chris Sale do it? He's currently on pace for 299 strikeouts.
  5. I'd rather discuss if he can get to 300 k's this year. A much more fun topic with immediate reward. I'll create a poll.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) I think that Frank Thomas is getting better and better at doing TV work. I wouldn't be against him as a color guy for the TV broadcasts. Love this. Anything to get him on my tv and telling me things and stories from eras I give a s*** about would be fine. He'd be the anti-Hawk.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) It's really a great channel. I've been watching it more and more. I kid you not, it's on my tv almost all the time I'm at home. In the morning waiting for the nanny there's nothing better than Quick Pitch, and at night it's basically NFL RedZone for MLB. I f***ing love that station.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) Eh, i'd disagree on the plausible. There are plenty of dumb things that don't make sense - leaving one guy in charge of the entire security system, exhibiting the island in the first place when there's a hurricane on the way (which goes away very quickly, btw), having the breaker panels in a separate building, having a T-Rex area with a moat, and then to let the T-Rex out, get rid of the moat, etc. Still, top 5 movie of all time in my book. Not sure there's a better action movie. It holds up incredibly well 25 years later. You make some valid points. Maybe I'm nuts. BUT MILITARIZING VELOCIRAPTORS!
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) I'm sure the MLB network ratings are killing it. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/05/0...-season/400835/ They are. The station is skyrocketing in popularity.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) let's at least get Matt Vasgersian. Let's at least hire a guy away from a dream job at MLB Network to come work for one of the least popular franchises in baseball? Realistic suggestion. More please.
  11. Swirsk was really good duing the period he was pbp this season... I'd miss him for Bulls games, though!
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 09:52 AM) All four contracts are up, could we see changes? Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 2h2 hours ago Next up for Brooks Boyer and company will be the announcers, with all four up contractually after this season Please, God, let this be the end of Hawk Harrelson. They need legit pbp voices to go with Stone on TV and Farmio on radio. Farmio and Rooney was the best tandem in the sport. God, I miss Rooney. I used to do what I could to sync the radio audio with tv. It made for great baseball. AND IT'S A GONER AND A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:29 AM) It's like writing a critical review of the most recent Fast & the Furious movie...of course, 90% of the set action pieces are preposterous and over the top (like the runway that goes on for about 5 KM from the previous film), but that's part of the enjoyment. Nobody ever says, "that could actually happen in real life!" after a typical summer popcorn flick. As long as it's not a movie based on historical facts, it's kind of irrelevant...you just have to be in a certain mood to watch it, like Sharknado I/II. So sure, when I was watching JW and just knew the dinosaur had gotten out somehow, you just expected the military or "greedy capitalist counterpart to heroine with a hidden heart of a gold" to do something idiotic like chase after the dinosaur in a helicopter. I mean...I suppose we could have also imagined that the helo was equipped with SAM missiles instead of merely machine guns...well, that would have required us to believe that "greedy capitalist guy" would be willing to destroy his golden parachute creation. Of course, knowing the consequences of the public safety being affected by such an event, and the resulting catastrophic financial losses...and that any dino could eventually be recreated or re-imagined in the laboratory, wouldn't they have logically taken it out with a drone strike? Of course, that would have summarily ended the movie after just 45 minutes. I think in the end, I have no choice but to draw comparisons to the original. Jurassic Park comes off as an absolutely plausible story to this day. The book itself was the same way. There's no way Crichton would have written anything about militarizing raptors.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) Agree. It was a pretty fun movie but I don't understand how it became such a cultural phenomenon. The idea of the militarized dinosaurs is just ridiculous with the types of weapons we have right now. And I'm not sure this needs a spoiler tag but:
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Does your daughter know her father is a criminal? I don't think she's capable of understanding that just yet. She will some day, I'm sure.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 08:43 AM) You're seriously downloading movies without paying for them and then complaining about the quality? You get what you pay for. I don't see how downloading the film makes me any less able to criticize it. Yeah, I have a 4 month old at home, so hitting the theater isn't my top priority right now. I'd have been there opening weekend if possible.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) Mr. Robot was trippy as hell. I think I'm even more confused as to what the hell is actually going on. That said, that's what makes the show so great. They had me at the jive-talking beta fish.
  18. Jurassic World, while entertaining, was pretty stupid. Of all the scripts to hit your desk, you chose the one based around a genetically modified, genius dinosaur and militarizing raptors? Idiotic. The nods to the original were the only saving grace for me with this film.
  19. Excellent a gorgeous Jurassic World leak (I can deal with the Taiwanese subtitles or whatever). Can't wait to local cast this tonight!
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) I swear, you'd think my house was coated with lead-paint. My Chromecast about 40 feet away from the router can't get a signal. Looks like I am going to have to hook up our booster again and take slower speeds to get full coverage in the house. Ugh. I hate to bottleneck this thing, but it seems I have no choice. My next investment may be in a Powerline Adapter for my PS4. They run about $40 on Amazon. Instead of buying all that s***, save your money and move out?
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 08:56 AM) I also still haven't gotten my pre-order bonus from Amazon. Anyone else get that email yet? I got the email but have no clue what it's for? Do you know? Also, for some reason even though they promised delivery yesterday, it's not arriving until tomorrow. That's given me plenty of time to decide not to keep the game, so if you want the code (PS4), PM me.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) Bulls Talk ‏@CSNBulls 4m4 minutes ago Report: Bulls' Jimmy Butler receives Team USA invite - http://ift.tt/1MuoRT9 #BullsTalk Another opportunity for he and Derrick to not get along.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Ibkillin is my sn. Early reviews are not good. IGN with a 5.5. QUOTE (SnB @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) I'll stick w/ the golf club for now. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/14/ror...pga-tour-review Well, that sucks. Sigh.
  24. Man of Steel was a pile of festering s***.
