  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 07:03 AM) If Paxson somehow pulls off Stoudamire, does he go from Pariah to Savior a la Danny Ainge? Yes. The slate will be wiped clean in my book. The boycott would be over and i'd be jazzed about this team's chances for the future. As for this Portland to Phoenix talk, they've already openly stated they are not trading Aldridge.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) I really don't see anyway we can get Amare without giving up Deng OR Thomas. Frankly, IMO anyone but Rose can go for Amare, none of these guys are exactly elite. You don't get the chance to get someone as talented as Amare that's still in his prime very often, and the team getting the star pretty much ALWAYS gets the better end when all is said and done. Give them Tyrus. Are people really wanting to keep Tyrus after a couple of hot games? THIS IS EXACTLY THE TYPE OF RUN WE NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO MOVE HIS SH*TTY ASS!!! Hold onto Deng: he, Amare, and Rose is a very nice threesome to build around.

    QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Tombstone > 3:10 To Yuma Well duh.
  4. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Thats gonna be Rose. Amare will be his Pippen QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) Fixed that for you. Ha, beat me to it.
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) Well I dunno about that, Amare hasn't exactly played great with a big like Shaq next to him. If they could somehow keep Thomas and give up say 2 future 1st's, Noah and Gooden for Amare, they should definitely do that. But I agree that the Bulls should do what they can to get Amare. He can be the perfect compliment to Rose (the star this team hasn't had since Michael Jordan). Fixed that for you.

    QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) I seriously don't understand why Steve Martin continues to re-up for these dogs. Give me good old-fashioned Man With Two Brains or The Jerk. $$
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) Let's assume we make the Noah + Tyrus + cap room for Amare deal. That leaves the Bulls with Aaron Gray as their starting Center. I wouldn't object to this of course, but that leaves the question...what starting C's are available this offseason as FA? Yeah you do what you can to get Amare without moving Deng and Rose. Maybe then you make the trade to snag Brad Miller... Miller Amare Deng Gordon Rose Now you're onto something...
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) I think this is kind of racist, thinking a black guy has to play kenny williams. I mean, it's 2009 guys, we have a BLACK president. You guys are living in the past. ha.

    QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 07:51 AM) I can't believe so many people disliked 3:10 to Yuma. I thought it was one of the better westerns made in the last decade or two. Not that there have been a ton of them made in that period, but, there are some. Agreed completely that it was good. It was no Tombstone or Unforgiven, but as far as westerns in the last decade, yeah.

    I want to very publicly apologize for my very public, unsolicited attack on BobDylan last night. I drank too much and, well, there you have it. Thanks mods for editing out the bad stuff. I do believe BobDylan (the person on this board) to be quite well educated, and in fact, think his opinions are interesting... though many times I disagree. My humble apologies, and I'll avoid clicking the Soxtalk link when that bombed again.

    QUOTE (BobDylan @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) The Prestige was a good movie. Outstanding is stretching it largely. Bruce Wayne doesn't have depth. The character thinks he has depth and they try to give it to him, but, it's nothing more than popcorn crap that doesn't do anything more than add a few cliches. Ledgers character scratched the surface of depth, but fell short. Rescue Dawn was an unfortunate movie for Herzog, that's all I'll say. As far as that and the other one you mentioned not being big budget, so what? I'd bet a good dollar that he got paid well to be in those movies, and besides that, what does being in a low budget movie prove anyway? I want to see him carry a movie, a cast, a bad screenplay, or a bad director before I'm ready to call him a good actor. That, or I want him to play a character that has serious, believeable motivations and flaws, not the Bruce Wayne bulls*** stuff. I find it hard to believe that you've never thought Christian Bale was good in anything, because he's that good in a lot of movies. I find it hard to believe that you don't like anything that finds its way to the main stream. Ten years ago I bet his independent amazing performance in American Psycho had you rolling over yet intrigued at the same time. Now that he's mainstream though, watch out. Big bag Bob Dylan of Soxtalk thinks he's a SELL OUT, no good actor!!! OH NOES!!! However, you seem to get off on being Mr. Different. Ok, enjoy it. Enjoy being the guy who loves nothing yet everything everyone doesn't know about. Edited by admin for personal attacks.

    QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) So is to say he is in the upper echelon of actors. I know it wasn't you, but it was said earlier. He's as much in the upper echelon of actors as a Brad Pitt or a Tom Cruise ever was... what is your criteria? Ability to make himself cry? I think he's done that. Ability to land the lead high-grossing films? Only the highest grossing ever... a wide-range of accents and roles? He's done that too. To say he's not in the upper echelon of current actors is to ignore reality. Christian Bale is the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. He's starved himself for roles, he's bulked up, he's played an every man, he's played the man... he's done it all. This is as much an indictment on the current chaff the acting population is made up of right now, but regardless, Bale is incredibly talented, but if you prefer your Phillip Seymour Hoffman's that's your prerogative.
  16. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) By what criteria? A better moment in time? You like it better than the second link I posted, which is from an AP photographer? Did Steve's photo smile at you? If I uploaded it to a Cardinals website would it work? Because I'm awesome. Case closed. Now show me definitive evidence that the Warner fumble shouldn't have been reviewed!
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 02:25 PM) I never saw definitive evidence that it didn't and last i looked that is what it takes to over-turn a call. I'm not saying it should have been overturned. I'm just saying that it looks like the TD shouldn't have counted.
  18. I have yet to see definitive evidence that his toe ever touched the endzone. That is all. Of course, I have also yet to see definitive evidence that Warner's fumble wasn't really an incomplete pass.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) No they didn't. http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/santonio-got...t-so-much-22151 None of those images show he definitively touched with the right foot. The second one is an odd angle and the bottom most tip of his foot is in line with the red in the background. That does not mean it is touching.

    QUOTE (BobDylan @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) I didn't know a Terminator movie was capable of this. Man, as a kid... when Eddie Furlong slowly lowered Arnold into the hotness and the ol' thumbs up... that's f***ing emotion MAN!
  21. I was very unhappy with moving Tuomo Ruutu for Andrew Ladd only for Ruutu's personality and all-world untapped talent. DT proved me and a lot here wrong, Ladd is blossoming into exactly what we need at a much more reasonable price. He has actually matched Ruutu's 29 points, though obviously Tuoms has more of a nose for the net still.
  22. Marty Havlat is really, really hitting his stride right now. I knock on wood as I say this, but if he can stay healthy and we can lock him up, we've got ourselves a bargain.
  23. Now just get HD nation-wide and I might tune in...
