QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) I don't know what the hell a blumpkin is, but I am pretty sure I can give out something of more value. Blumpkin definition #2. Read the 2nd definition. Therein, lies the answer. There is nothing of more value.

I think we should have a rule against posting links to Bleacher Report. I could go on there right now and report that the White Sox are getting David Wright in a deal for a bunch of scrubs. There's no news merit to that site.
-
I must say, I am humbled by this nomination, and I will give out blumpkins for votes.
-
I swear I saw Fathom post just today. That's bulls***.
-
How in the name of God does someone with 20k+ posts get nominated here lol?
-
I too find it hilarious that Zoom was nominated. The dude can't even hold a Crayola. Seriously.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) 2003 Florida Marlins come to mind. They didn't have a slugger in their line-up, but more well rounded players than anything else (and great starting pitching). Pierre and Castillo were really fun to watch that season. Derrek Lee and Mike Lowell both jacked 30+ homers that year...

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) GREAT news. I was losing sleep worrying about your fantasy team... For a Sleepy person such as yourself I can see how that would be of concern. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) Unless of course Abreu steals bases like he did last year then he's more of a detriment than an asset. Wait, 66% is bad?

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) Paul is listed as day to day with a mild groin strain HOORAY! -
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Hey why don't we just use rotoworld's suggestion and put CQ in center... haha I hate when people who have no idea what they are talking about start suggesting things like that...

QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) That's what I assumed. I was wondering if they bothered to actually call someone. The fact that this hasn't been picked up by a major sports outlet tells me there is nothing to it. It was reported on Sportscenter, does that count?

Bobby Abreu at $8 million is a steal, btw.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 09:52 AM) Christian Bale=American Psycho. Fixed that for ya.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) Oh, by the way, casting one "Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A." as the voice of the President in the new Monsters vs. Aliens movie? Now that's casting with Balls. And Jack Bauer as the military adviser? I might have to watch that just for the voices. Will Arnett is the voice of one of the monsters. That's all I needed to know I'd be seeing it.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 11:59 AM) Dunn > Thome Wow, way to go out on a limb comparing a 29 year old to a 38 year old.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) And why do you have the AL MVP hitting 5th? We got Pedroia?
-
I'd love a top of the lineup of Figgins and Abreu.
-
QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 09:24 AM) abreu and figgins sounds great, but dye for figgins straight up sounds like absolute garbage. Are there any pitchers were possibly looking at? Post Script...Whether or not we get him, I hope this be the last time we talk about trading for chone figgins, amen. Honestly, it does, but so did Carlos Lee for Scott Podsednik. Sometimes you downgrade in value to upgrade your lineup. CF Figgins RF Abreu LF Quentin DH Thome 1B Konerko SS Ramirez 3B Fields C Pierzynski 2B Whomever wins the job That's a very good lineup.
-
I'd personally like to see a 2 year, $16 mill deal. When Thome's gone next year, you have DH flexibility.

QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) I think it's an Insider article, but it's also here: Daily News Bottom of the page. He is correct, it was Insider... and massive deduction (and reading the short entry) says its from the New York Daily News.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 08:35 AM) That is exactly what I was thinking... Or are we looking at a 4 players for 3 positions scenario (Thome, Dye, CQ, Abreu for RF, LF, and DH.)? Too much money and talent in those 4 players to do that.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 08:34 AM) yeah this is very interesting....abreu would be a great #2 hitter IMO...someone would have to be moved though...maybe this is an old report that has just surfaced now, or maybe KW has a trade for dye on the table Yeah, I really don't see Quentin, Abreu, Dye, or Thome going to CF...

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) Angelo thrives in the second round and on. It's usually where he does very, very well. (though the past couple seasons there have been more misses than hit) Other than Olsen (which was an obvious pick) and of course Urlacher, etc.. our first round picks are usually... ill be nice... not good/or bust. Tommy Harris says hi.
