Who will the Bears draft come april?
Steve9347 replied to Hawkfan's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Angelo has to take the highest talent WR in the first round. We can't ignore this position any longer or continue to try to survive on other retreads. Hester needs to be returned to his primary duties of kick and punt returns. -

I believe the Bears' biggest need is to solve the QB situation. Now onto something that will actually happen. Angelo has to take the highest talent WR in the first round. We can't ignore this position any longer or continue to try to survive on other retreads. Hester needs to be returned to his primary duties of kick and punt returns. This team is going to crash hard and soon. -

Rough coupla days for the ol' fantasy team... Bynum goes down and now CP3 is going to have an MRI. Not good. -

Hmm, so which was worse? Janet's boob or Springsteen's balls? Anyone who still had their 3D glasses on had his balls in their lap! -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) I guess I dont think its a huge stretch to figure that some one who attends a school notorious for drug use (Michigan), who is a millionaire and who listens to Lil Wayne, may have tried marijuana. Conversely if he attended some Ivy league school, listened to Mozart and lived a life dedicated to poverty, Id probably be less likely to figure he was into weed. Then again, I think you could just look at him and see that hes a little bit faded. I think that's just an incredibly weak argument. Most of my friends who smoke listen to country or rock. The type of music one listens to does not have influence on their actions. I'm sure plenty of stoners get off to Bach or Mozart or Raffi... -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) I dont know how you reach that conclusion that listening to rap = doing drugs. I would assume it had something to do with your statement that you had assumed he smoked weed because he listened to Lil Wayne. -
The wife and I saw Revolutionary Road on Friday. It was basically 2.5 hours of why marriage is bad, and the rumors that Winslet gets nekkid were unfounded. There really was no purpose to watch this movie. I didn't hate it, but I didn't feel like I'd been to see a movie afterwards. Also, I can see why the performances of the main characters did not warrant nomination. A lot of the arguments really seemed forced and contrived. The only guy nominated (supporting actor, crazy guy) had like 10 minutes of screen time. Meh.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) I've heard, but have not confirmed, that they actually did review the play quickly but the TV crew dropped the ball. But I'm not completely buying it since a review takes at least a couple minutes to make sure it's right. That would be NFL bs. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 10:46 AM) It warranted review obviously, but the call would have been upheld anyways, and that's all that really matters. It was a very unique play though because it's rare to see a quarterback have the ball jarred loose like that but have it not actually pop out right away. There were actually several strange plays last night. Exactly... you just said it yourself, it didn't pop out right away. He got an awkward pass off. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) If Warner had actually controlled the ball until it came completely free, I'd agree it was a forward pass. To me, the initial contact is what jarred the ball loose (which was before the arm started forward), but since the ball didn't jar completely free right away (it took about an extra quarter second or so), the ball went forward. Even if you watch it with red shaded glasses, it is at most inconclusive (I don't think it's that close at all), and it was called a fumble. However, it still warranted review. I have seen by NFL definition that called a forward pass. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) It's my opinion. Obviously, people will be offended. But IMO, who cares? Let him do whatever. I have a feeling all those people who pay endorsement money to him care. -

By the NFL's definitions, that was a forward pass, and AT LEAST warranted review. For them to let Pittsburgh run a play at such an important time is a joke, and completely ruined that game for me. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) Think they'd want a solid defensive point guard? I'm 100% serious. I had the exact same conversation last night. Hinrich would make a lot of sense for both Cleveland and Orlando. No joke. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) I was doing something crazy as usual http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_hb52...01/ai_n20749034 That story was picked up by the suntimes, daily herald, southtown and a newspaper in Terre Haute, Indiana, I was also interviewed by Eddie and Jobo twice and some show on the Loop. I even have a 10x40 foot nylon banner that was on the stadium. The day after the Superbowl I went to the stadium and asked for the lost and found (that helped me get past security) I really only wanted to walk around the stadium but then I seen the clean up crew tearing everything down and throwing things away. I could pass up the opportunity when I seen that monster banner. Don't ask me how I managed to sneak it out the stadium, but I did! Coolest souvenir ever! Got a pic of that banner? -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) I think it would be a very good thing for them. The stock of their roster goes up. I don't think there would be too much of a difference between their would be lottery pick vs their draft pick making the playoffs. I suppose the same could be said for us. Finishing #9 would be the worst scenario obviously. I think we finished with the #9 chances last year didn't we?
