  1. You can't be rocking at 100% like this over 5 games in 8 days. It's just not possible. The Hawks won last night, and they just need a break. This team is very young, there will be a rough stretch or two, but in the end, I think they'll easily lock up a top 4 playoff spot.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) If I'm an Astros fan I'm pissed
  3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Agreed, I have no clue where to find an arcade these days actually. All I can think of is like Game Works type joints.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) Games like this are where it would be nice to have a legit heavyweight on the team. Do the Redwings have a legit heavy weight? Let the other team take useless penalties by guys who couldn't survive except to get their faces pounded in as "enforcers".
  5. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) Yes. I remember being good enough to beat the other kids my age, then someone 16 year old would get on and destroy me. I kinda miss spending countless hours at the arcade. The true arcade, where your mind was blown that a game could look that good... those are dead. Kid's these days have no idea what they missed.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 10:39 AM) Yup. Aaaaand ordered.
  7. I'd love nothing more than to see ZERO white sox participate in this Bud Selig money play.
  8. Man, Kaner was on pace for 96 points before this injury. I sure hope he comes back soon... I really think he's going to go down as the best American-born offensive weapon in the history of the NHL.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) quick guess Iwamura - 2B Upton - CF Longoria - 3B Pena - 1B Burrell - DH Crawford - LF Navarro - C Joyce - RF Bartlett - SS looks like a lineup that could score 800 runs. That's some much needed power in the middle of their lineup. Personally, I don't think Burrell was a great fit for them. They obviously went with the cheaper option, but Bradley (or Dye) would have made much more sense. In the proposed lineup above (which I'd really recommend against), they've got Pena and Burrell hitting 4/5. Considering the two of them have a history of struggling to hit .250, you're going to need a lot of love from the Gods above to have something consistent come out of the middle of your order. I think a lineup vs righties of Iwamura - 2B Crawford - LF Longoria - 3B Pena - 1B Upton - CF Burrell - DH Navarro - C Joyce - RF Bartlett - SS would make a lot more sense.
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) I like that comparison. Also, while he is a solid hitter, he isn't gonna sniff those numbers he had last year. I'm thinking if he does stay healthy and out of trouble for 130 games, the Cubs can expect something like a .265-275 average, 20 homers, 70 rbi's, and an OBP around .360-.370. Not bad at all, but his numbers will take a hit since he won't be playing half of his games at that ulta hitters friendly ballpark anymore. I think Wrigley is rather hitter friendly. The ball flies out of there and there is no foul territory. If he can hit .276 in Oakland, the worst park in the Majors to hit in, I think a .290 average with a .385 OBP would be more likely. Add to that about 20-25 homers and 85-90 RBI, and he's basically going to do what they wanted Fukudome to do.
  11. What he means to say is the most important thing is to get back the $1.25 million he's losing to suspension. I don't see why he would go to a second nutritionist instead of calling the hotline. You call the hotline, MLB has the recording that says you could take it, you're safe. What I believe happened here is his trainer said "you probably shouldn't take it" (as stated above), and then he took it. This mysterious second opinion probably didn't happen, because it's much easier to dial a phone number. I do think that based on the fact that in Spring Training the MLB outwardly cleared anything sold at GNC that the suspension should not happen and an apology should be made, however. I think that alone makes this a moot argument.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 03:14 AM) daa, you are right. It's been awhile since I looked at it. It has game 3 alds and game 5 alcs. I never got this set because I was unsure of something. Are the games in Widescreen?
  13. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 01:24 PM) I guess slayer had a better ring to it than STD This is an early favorite for POTY.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 08:14 AM) I didn't realize that Pettitte is only 36. I say 'only' because I thought he was one of those guys that was pitching into his 40's. He's a f***ing roider. Not that that has anything to do with your post! Seems everyone forgot Mr. Pettitte was on the juice too.
  15. I don't get why someone hasn't come up with the brilliant idea to put arcade games on the Wii (with original arcade graphics, not that Turtles II NES port). Three games I'd pay honestly any amount for would be: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I see XBLA has this, dammit, too bad would honestly love it on the Wii. F***!) The Simpsons Arcade Game X-Men: Arcade Honestly... myself and 3 others, I could see us playing these games all night with pizza delivery and all that jazz. It'd be so fun. I guarantee these would be high sellers.
  16. I really don't understand the Cubs sometimes... Pat the Bat has OPS'd right around .900 the each of the last 4 years (2 years, $16 million)... MB has OPS'd .900 1 time in the last 5 (if you take out his 42 game stint in 2007, and that warrants 3 years, $30 million?) I've been saying it for awhile, but Hendry just spends the money and rapes the Pirates in trades, he's not a good GM at all.
  17. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 07:10 AM) Not really sure where to put this, but I just started watching Entourage last week because I've always heard how awesome of a show it is. Anyway, I've watched Seasons 1-3 in the last week, and will be starting on Season 4 tomorrow. Those were the only seasons I bought, though, because I heard Season 5 was bad. Anyway, I just wanted to say that this show is awesome. Absolutely hilarious, mainly Johnny Drama. "Not in my town... Not in any of my 5 towns." Season 5 was quite entertaining IMO. You can't believe everything you read.
  18. QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) As your #3 or 4 guy in a rotation I'd take him yesterday. I'll volunteer to drive up to Milwaukee and get him. This afternoon if necessary. I'll go with.
  19. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) DC uses fake locations. Not so sure Metropolis was meant to be in Kansas. Clark Kent was from Kansas, but Metropolis I don't think was ever supposed to be in Kansas as well. The location is never given, but I know it was originally modeled after Toronto and then they just pretty much made it a "big city".
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 11:40 AM) Unless you're talking about relatively new, multiplatinum-selling games, I don't know what you mean by that. I was basically saying that if you don't like Halo, and you're unsure about Gears, and you already have a PS3, you're probably not going to see much of a benefit of also having a 360.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) So my gf is amazingly awesome and got me a 360 for xmas. I now have all three consoles and no life (yay to being half unemployed). I picked up Fable II and Age of Booty (arcade game). Both are loads of fun. After a week or so of playing, I'll give the 360 props for the streamlined look and the ease of playing online with friends, but I still feel the ps3 is a better total multimedia package. Anyone have any recommendations for 360 exclusives? I'm not a big Halo fan, but I thought I might eventually pick up Gears 2. Start with the first Gears, but past that if you don't like Halo, there aren't many exclusives outside of Mass Effect.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) Nice bounce back W here for the Hawks.
  23. Until Comcast adds this channel in HD, its really not going to be worth it for me to tune in.
