Gran Torino is an excellent film.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Is that water? My god. There were better water effects in 1993. Quite literally. Try 1989 I don't see why you'd rip a system for getting a s***ty game. Honestly. Are you running out to get "Bolt" for XBOX 360?

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) After getting Quantum of solace for Christmas I am now seeing how absolutely awful the Wii is. That's what you get for getting s***bomb games like Quantum of Solace (which I'm betting by the 360 rating of 5.5 just sucked across all platforms) that don't take advantage of the greatness of the Wii. My library is filled with great games that take advantage of what makes the Wii awesome.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) And the Texans were great at home this year and they have the 3rd ranked offense. You act like since it was Houston all the players and fans should cry themselves to sleep every night until September 8, 2009. Not in the least. I'm saying we had something to play for, and they did not.

Are there any FREE fantasy keeper leagues?
Steve9347 replied to DaTank's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Idk, I just remember seeing the option every time I create my yearly leagues. Might be a PLUS-league thing. I know you can do keeper for free through yahoo basketball, but baseball I'm unsure. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 09:59 AM) If sucks=just missing the playoffs and having 9 wins, then yes they suck. Um, they lost to the Texans in a must-win game. They suck. I doubt the Pats are happy about missing, and they had 11 wins. The Bears needed to beat a .500 team to get in the playoffs. That's it. The Eagles destroyed the Cowboys when they needed to win. They do not suck. The Bears suck.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 07:22 PM) NINE! Amazing that no Hawks team had ever done that before. This is pretty sweet. They haven't even needed the shootout to pull off these victories. I wouldn't change anything right now. -

You'd be f***ing nuts to get a 360. Aside from the constant fear it's going to die on you, it also does not include a BluRay Player nor games such as MLB 09: The Show. The 360's heyday has already come and gone with Halo 3 and both Gears of War games. I don't see any future exclusives that will make it "the" system to own, and it's soon going to be a thing of the past. The 360 is currently being utilized 100%, while the PS3's graphical abilities are already there and will only get better. The systems to own are Wii or PS3. I picked wrong when I got my 360 last year, but I was able to sell it for enough to get a Wii (to get the wife involved), but if I were picking just based on what would be the best bet for the future, I wouldn't think twice before going PS3.

Wow, you guys took the "+ time" out of the equation "tragedy + time = comedy" didn't you. Unfortunately, without the "+ time" its unfunny.

I believe Kane and Toews being 1 and 2 is obviously related to the Hawks' marketing efforts. People around the league have YouTubed those hilarious commercials. The Hawks have a tandem of highly-marketable players, and they are doing so quite well. -

Let me just say that having Rodney Stuckey on my fantasy team made last night fun as hell. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Yeah, but he is probably the best first baseman in baseball. Still young, a .300+ hitter, 40 HR, 100 RBI, great walk numbers and gold glover to boot. He is the best at his position. Albert Pujols just gave you the middle finger.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) BTW, that noise you hear is Lawal's draft stock crashing. Since that Penn State game, he's been horrific. Taj Gibson has dominated him tonight. Works for me. All the better to get him later. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Ben has certainly improved upon his arms wide open Ole defensive technique he used to use, but I would say he was a "good" defender, he is probably near average now. Seems to still be using it just fine. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) Oh. Well I guess when people are getting laid off, unemployment is rising etc., and the economy going down the toilet, people just have less money to spend, and that they don't want to spend as much as they used to. But you make a good point. Hence "the obvious". Yours falls under mine falls under obvious.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/depth?team=chw It's bad, but it's just off-season compilation based on the pieces we have. I highly doubt any thought was put into this. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) Bills, mortgages, petrol, putting food on the table etc. I guess. He was commenting on the flood of people at the malls, I believe. You can't get a damn parking spot. What I think we're seeing here is something that had to happen, regardless. Every idiot out there had 6 credit cards that were maxed and were still buying flat screen tv's. People's shopping had become as gluttonous as their eating habits. It had to happen. Now, when we're having a fine shopping time at Christmas it's not enough, because corporations had gotten used to the insanity that was the last ten years. 'bout damn time. The levy finally broke, that's all it is. /the obvious

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Sometimes I wonder what the hell ARE consumers spending their money on? Everyone just isn't keeping it under a mattress. There has to be some companies thriving, because I sure as hell see alot of cars on the road and they're all going somewhere. That.

QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) I can't tell if you're being serious, but the point is that no matter what number you pick, you'll end up with Texsox as your hero. Nope, hadn't done the math. I'm stupid today.
