  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) If this keeps up, who's the first to get fired? Is Manto the fall guy, or do they just trade off everyone and blame the players? It will be interesting since the guys they would be trading are well-liked by Sox fans and not the likes of Swisher/Javy. The word last year was that Mark Parent was the enforcer on the staff. Surprised if he went anywhere.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2013 -> 12:17 PM) We have been told Viciedo is what he is, as is Beckham. Both are potentially the two best offensive players the Sox have produced in years. (Which isn't saying much obviously)I am not saying it's definitely going to happen, but it can. I still can't believe people want the Sox to totally rebuild considering the players they have drafted and not developed and how prospects like Molina and Castro and Lillibridge, and the next Jon Garland, Jeff Marquez have turned out. Just to mention a few. Buddy Bell recommended Teahan and Keppinger and said Mitchell was a different player this spring. He gets promoted. A bigger voice. A rebuild would be a disaster. With Buddy calling the shots, you mean?
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) He even shut us down for two innings yesterday. Brian Bannister?
  4. no hits. the funk endures. I miss Luke Hochevar.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) I don't think so. They screwed around with him, but supposedly he wasn't to be had cheaply. Yeah, I couldn't remember. I thought that he was on the outs for awhile.
  6. Sale isn't getting any close calls and they're hitting the hell out of him when he falls behind
  7. Alex Gordon could've been had pretty easily a few years ago, right? Before they moved him to left?
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) Don't say that, as an injury to the big guy on the mound would be catastrophic. "1st pick in the draft" catastrophic
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:40 AM) Walk the previous guy on four pitches? Better swing at the first pitch. out of the zone...
  10. I believe the injuries would have to start mounting for the Tigers for the Royals to win this division. And that's very possible. The injury bug seems to be hitting everyone.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Must be nice to have a team that's focused at the plate. 36 pitches for Chris, 10 for Shields.
  12. probably wouldn't have got him, but still.
  13. Chris should've gotten a called strike 3
  14. I really just want to see the Sox start playing good baseball. If they pitch well, play solid D and get some timely hits but still lose, I can live with it. Watching them beat themselves is gut-wrenching. To me, that's what makes fans turn away....how they lose.
  15. I hope his persistence in starting Keppinger and hitting him 2nd finally starts to pay off. Because I'm so f***ing sick of that guy already.
