  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 05:41 PM) Too bad, soxtalk has decided he won't be back until July. WE HAVE SPOKEN. Ha! Okay, we'll see.
  2. boy it just keeps getting better with that guy
  3. Thanks -- I'm very excited about this kid. Feels like we stole one thanks to his injury.
  4. Any chance we see him this year? I know it's early but I'm starting to doubt my belief that Tyler Flowers would be able to hit for a decent average if given regular AB's.
  5. Royals 4-3 on a road trip to ATL, BOS, and DET. That's pretty impressive.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) Sox win........................Bears lose again. so true so true
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 05:36 PM) 3 runs, no homers impressive
  8. let the center cut FB go by, chase the one low and away, fly out on the 1-2 pitch.
  9. Can't believe Joe Maddon was sitting on the bench in Anaheim so long and nobody grabbed him but the lowly Rays.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) Who says Keppinger doesn't create runs!
  11. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 05:19 PM) Not getting the lead runner there is about as awesome as a ball bouncing off of Pods' head in left field. Brilliant. And it's something like that every freakin game.
  12. Chris Sale has not pitched very well since the first game. Hope he turns it around.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Much like myself especially defensively, I don't understand how defense can be measured taking all things into consideration. I love some of the new statistics and their evaluations, but you're absolutely right, defense is one of those factors that remains difficult to quantify. Even UZR is admittedly tenuous at best. And I suspect it will remain elusive. But Hawk is full of s***. They've been using statistics since the game began to measure at the very least, the odds of one event occurring more than another.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 01:14 PM) The only way you do that is if you have zero intention on bringing Beckham back next season. A wrist break is not an easy injury to come back from in terms of being baseball ready. He'll lose some strength that has to be built back up, then spend some time in Charlotte getting back to normal...what's a realistic return? Mid-July would be my guess.
