  1. I still think AJ will have to battle a perception problem on the free market. Although he might get that Dodger deal that he almost signed a few years ago. He's an upgrade over Ellis.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 27, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Anyone else feeling Giants sweep this thing?

  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) The Sox fan I know rooting for Detroit was born in Detroit and raised on the South Side. Otherwise, the entire city of Detroit can f*** itself. f*** AL Pride. I'd root for the Orioles, Blue Jays, Rays, Mariners, (and next year) Astros from the AL. That's it. I can't stand any team in our division, the Yankees or Red Sox, the Rangers, Angels, and A's. I'll never root for Detroit in the WS unless they play the Cubs. well said
  5. Detroit's Achilles heel is their defense. That will cost them this series.
  6. For a guy who doesn't speak English very well, his mouth gets him in a lot of trouble.
  7. it's been a couple of weeks and I'm still not over this f***ing collapse. damn.
  8. A's come back to win this thing. They have some kind of magic going and I think they find a way to beat zoolander in game 5.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 7, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) Well, somehow that's NOT a surprise. OAK continuing to be jinxed in the post-season, dating back to the Jeremy Giambi/Derek Jeter play at home way back when. What about the AJ boo-ya?
  10. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 7, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) f*** the MLB and Choke-land. I don't know who to blame more. "Home field advantage" doesn't just mean "more home games" starting a series at home is a HUGE advantage for any team. f***, the Tigers might sweep and at that point would have really had home field advantage. 2 games in Detroit, 1 game in Oakland. Agreed, it's such bulls***
  11. Really hate this format in the 1st round of the playoffs. Glad it's only for 1 year but I don't understand why they even have to do it at all. Team with home field advantage opens on the road? Stupid.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:25 PM) When you look at Fielder and Cabrera's numbers, and the fact that the tigers have a decent bullpen and led the league in quality starts, how many games did they lose because of defense? 8? 10? They're a really good team that plays really bad defense. They are an underachieving team that gave the Sox hope this season. Their poor defense (and base running) will haunt them in the playoffs. I look forward to watching them go out in the division series.
  13. We're fortunate that Detroit was such an underachieving team this year, it made for an exciting year of baseball for me. If they had performed as they should have, we would've been looking up at them all season and they would've cruised to a division win. Fortunately we didn't make any stupid trades because of this. I like Jim Leyland a lot as a baseball guy but I don't think he's a very good manager for this Tigers team. I hope they bring him back. I love the mentality of this Sox team and I hope that it's the same in the years to come.
  14. Sox will be in 1st next Tuesday.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Let's win this thing. Why not
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) So you're saying there's a chance Thanks to etroit being very bad on the road
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) At least Dayan likes to drop bombs If only he would hit a few
  18. I still enjoyed this season. This team never gave up in any game and that's the bright spot in having Ventura at the helm.
  19. Games that still pain me? Quintana in LA.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) I'd point to the night before when Viciedo, Alexei and Flowers all failed to at least tie the game with bases loaded and no outs. At the time, the team had won 5 in a row and had Sale on the mound. They never seemed to recover after that failed opportunity, and the struggles with RISP reached almost unbelievable heights. We used to lead the league with 2 outs and RISP. That evaporated and voila, so did the season.
