  1. Anyone else think we'll be back in a tie for 1st after tomorrow night?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Yep, throw a high fastball in a sac fly situation. meh, you know they were going to score that run. Even with a whiff master like Pena up there.
  3. For a guy who hits for s***, Pena has a sweet swing
  4. surprised longoria didn't come up hurt. guy's made of glass.
  5. be nice to see Beckham change his approach with two strikes. Still tries to yank it when he's shown in the past that he can hit it to right.
  6. I might add that KC swept Detroit last time in KC, and if the division is still up for grabs in that series I look for them to give Detroit all kinds of trouble.
  7. Tigers are not a very good team on the road. I look for KC to take 2 of 3 in KC. Tigers probably take 2 of 3 from Minny. So they go 3-3. That means we have to go 4-2 to tie, 5-1 to win. Tie does us no good since we can't beat Detroit. (How freakin' big was last night's loss!) I'm thinking they might find a way to split with TB, which means we'd have to sweep the tribe in Cleveland. Obviously they have to play better to do it, but it's not out of the question. Still, more likely a 3-3 finish for the Sox as well. Again, HUGE loss last night.
  8. what a complete and utter joke Ned Yost's team is.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) I would guess that the hate for Jose Valverde's clown act may neutralize any hatred for AJ. There are some serious good vibes working for Detroit right now. Would be great to see that d-bag valverde blow this game.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) f*** the Royals and f*** Detroit. And Minnesota. f*** them too. And Cleveland. And LeBron. And Wade. and Will Ohman!
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) Unless we all don Rally Crede avatars, the White Sox are doomed. Do it for your team. http://imageshack.us/a/img228/2273/rallycrede.jpg I'm not going to stoop to that
  12. The season is almost over and I just realized there's a function on MLB.TV that allows you to listen to the ball park natural sound w/o any announcers.
  13. 3 errors already by KC. More reason to hate them.
  14. I'm still trying to figure out how you walk 12 f***ing guys. But yeah, go sox. (and Royals)
  15. Tiger fans were calling it a season when they were down 3 after last week's loss in the makeup game. It's 1 game. And Minny hates the Tigers.
  16. well, strange things happen in this game all the time. And the thing that should happen doesn't always happen. That said, this team is in some kind of funk. Was listening to the Indians broadcast and like they said, the Sox pitching does not look playoff ready. But what do you say about an offense that is hitting under .100 with RISP in the 1-7 streak? A perfect storm of choking away what up to this point has been a very fun and unexpected season of baseball. Hate to see it go down like this. It's a lot to ask them to turn it around now, especially with a stellar pitching staff coming to town. But it's only 1 game.
  17. Tigers radio crew laughing at the Sox' prospects against the rays
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 10:45 PM) I'll do anything for a win. Like Dave Chappelle once said, "I'LL SUCK YA DICK!". Damn that dude was funny
  19. Dear baseball gods, I started a gamethread on April 21st this year and Phil Humber pitched a perfect game. The perfecto was awesome and I really appreciate it. But I have another favor to ask. Sometimes the good guys need to win and the bad guys need to lose, and now is one of those times. A little more magic, that's all we're asking. Thanks
  20. There was another White Sox announcer who may have been even more of a homer -- Harry Caray. WSJ should go back and listen to some of his games for the Sox or, you know, that other team he went to after Reinsdorf fired him. Yet Harry is a beloved figure in sports, and not just in Chicago. Never heard anyone complain when he cried out, Let's get some runs! Personally, I think Hawk is more of a throwback and once he's gone we'll all miss him terribly...and sports writers will be inclined to write flowery, nostalgic articles suggesting how great he was and how it's a shame there aren't more guys like Hawk around any more.
  21. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) Was it Mitch Williams who said the Tigers would win the division by "at least 8 games" in like August? Yep. Crede hit his 2 homers to beat Cleveland on 9/20/05. Dunn's feel even bigger.
