  1. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) That ball was demolished. creamutilated
  2. LOL! After so many years of hearing the twins announcers condescend about the Sox, this season's absolute OWNAGE of this team is music to my ears.
  3. You should hear how dejected Dick and Bert sound facing Konerko
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 08:08 AM) I'm hoping it has to do with interest. I think Liriano was trying to bulk up his next contract with high K rates and it let to him overthrowing and sloppy delivery. But now that he's on a contender, you can make quite a bit more money by pitching well "under pressure" and helping a team get to the playoffs. At least that's what I'm hoping. I don't know why but I have the feeling that come September they're going to be calling this trade the most significant one made by the deadline. I just have a feeling that like you said, he's going to a contender, and that he's going to fix the inconsistencies and return to dominance. It just feels like that kind of year for the Sox.

  6. If not for some miraculous 1 run victories in the 1st half of the season (including walk-off wins), this probably would've come up sooner. And despite the fact that they're a young team, they always seem to be battling lots of injuries. Still, I really thought that win over Verlander was going to put them on a winning streak.
  7. Hold em. Back to back jacks coming from PK and Rios.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) I'd love to see a back-up catcher brought in, but it's doubtful based on how Flowers has performed defensively. The scary thing is if AJ re-injures his oblique, and you're left trying to find a catcher on the waiver wire. Don't we have anyone who can hit it out of the infield down in the minors?
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) Stone said AJ should play tomorrow. Too bad. Flowers is crushing right now.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) How does @notkenwilliams not make the list? good point - that's some funny s***
  11. Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox Sox purchase contract of INF Rey Olmedo from Charlotte
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) They need a RH reliever as badly as they needed another starter. Crain is just not a guy who can pitch two days in a row and be effective. It puts a ton of strain on the rest of the righties and as we know Jones is useless. Maybe I'm being glass half-full here, but I would say he's a work in progress, raw talent and lots of upside if they can harness that natural power. Very effortless 98-99 mph fastball. Once he learns to control it more consistently, and couples it with a consistent breaking pitch, he's going to be deadly. I love the fact that he's seeing a lot of high-pressure situations against the league's best lineups. Sure, he's failing at times, but that's only going to make him better down the road.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) had to give up Nathan, Cuddyer, Young and Kubel because of Morneau and Mauer's deals That's the rub for me - they sell out all the time but those cheap bastards blew a chance to remain competitive by letting these guys walk.
  14. A cool list for twitter fans... Top 50 Must Follow Baseball Twitter Accounts
  15. Sounds like Escobar was very popular with his teammates -- best of luck to him.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) I think I'd be living in a refrigerator box.
