  1. If there really is an Iron Throne (and I like to think there is), I want Konerko on it. (Viciedo can be the "Hand" of the King or whatever...not like he needs help anyway, I mean this s*** is totally doable with just a king).
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ May 26, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Finally Robin uses Ohman the right way! why is that in green?
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) Grill is started, tomorrow's ribs are in the fridge with a dry rub, chicken's ready to go on today, cracked a beer... Homemade ice cream??
  4. should be fun to see how this one turns out.
  5. I'm not sure if you guys have noticed, but the white sox are starting to hit the ball real good.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2012 -> 10:25 AM) The problem for the Sox is that it was more than just "A bad season", it's compounding multiple years of disappointment, ending in 2 really, incredibly disappointing seasons, and big budget cuts/the kids can play rebuilding. Yep, that definitely compounded it. And on the flip side that's why this team's got to be a huge relief for the front office and all of those who work to put fans in the seats. At least they have something to sell.
  7. I blame this f***ing thread because something happened to me watching the highlights of last night's game and I suddenly grew very annoyed with Hawk's home run exuberance. I don't mind the call, just don't blow a freakin' gasket for a home run hit during a regular season game...in the middle innings, no less. You listen to his calls from the 90s and he wasn't like this. Don't need a "Mercy!" on each one either. Ah s***! See, this thread ruined me!
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 26, 2012 -> 08:25 AM) Look at the Sox attendance historically and they've never drawn in April/May when they weren't very good the season before. Unfortunately for them most of their choice home games are early in the season which is one of the reasons I'm sure they had such a drastic payroll cut. As far as attendance goes, this year is all about shoring up and growing the season ticket base some in what remains a very tough economic climate. I think you're right about the previous year and its impact. Seems like the Sox suffer a heavier blow than most teams for a bad season. I think (hope?) the fact that the Cubs are the worst team in baseball, coupled with the Sox' better-than-projected start, will bring more fans out in the summer months. The key? The Sox must continue to give them a reason to come out. And let's face it, it doesn't hurt having names like Dunn and Peavy on the roster.
  9. ugh. do not lose 2 of 3 at home to the worst team in the division.
  10. Dunn's going yard this inning, so get on base
  11. All Walks Must Score. It's a white sox rule.
  12. Can't lie - looking forward to seeing Quintana again.
  13. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan Cropped up during cub game. 'nothing serious,' Ventura said. Quintana will fill spot.
  14. well, that sucks. Hope it's nothing too serious.
