  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) They'll win one by 2018. Guaranteed. I thought the same thing in '03 when they got so close and had 2 studs on the mound.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) It's just going to get worse. Bandwagon will make the Blackhawks fan base seem like a minor league squad. god forbid they start winning WS's...Sox will lose an entire generation of potential fans
  3. Wow. DJ is letting the team have it. Good for him! Giving great props to Avi and Saladino for giving 100% all the time.
  4. DJ: "There has to be repercussions for errors that are repeated." (referring to Eaton) FARMIO: "I agree with you 100%"
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) No the players are GROWN men nothing the coaches fault ever according to some. I spent 5 days in Glendale and was out every morning watching them taking practice so I don't think it's an issue of practice as much as it's an issue of talent.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 06:26 PM) Why would a Cubs fan throw a water bottle at Scwharber? Whoever it was just got kicked out. Because they were aiming for the Sox dugout?
  7. Sometimes I forget how much I loathe the cubs
  8. I've only been on Soxtalk since '05 but I'm pretty sure every year there has been at least one thread with the overarching theme, Hawk must go, and the love/hate him posts ensue. Interesting that he's so polarizing...and as a result, known to other fan bases. For instance, good luck naming some of the other PBP guys in markets you're unfamiliar with. They're just some generic vanilla-flavored spread on top of white bread. And that's good for some people, they like that. For me, sometimes I love Hawk and sometimes (like when he says s*** like that about the Royals vs. Sox) I can't stand him. And so it goes.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 08:12 AM) Certainly not franchise changing like trading 2 months of Samardjiza would have been. LMAO.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 07:25 AM) I do hope Flowers just throws it to 1B if that ever happens again. You're asking a lot
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) You guys are getting trolled don't spoil it!
  12. He's simply saying "Stir it. I see you. Superman. Iron Man." Cobb used to do the same thing but with different superheroes. And he was grittier than Biggio.
  13. You'd love this Angels commercial they keep on running on the LA broadcast....fans gathering in a sports bar to watch Trout vs. Sale with the bases juiced.
  14. Tough not to be pleased by the play of the young core of late - Avi, Saladino, Thompson, Rodon.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) He also said that he doesn't consider us out of the Wild Card race yet, so I don't know about this. And he's right. Not saying it will happen, but get hot and go win something like 12 out of 15 and they are right back in the conversation.
  16. nice win over a good team. Great to see Sale get his mojo back.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) First of all, you are wrong about Shark's trade value. If we would have traded him when I was calling for it (during one of those horrific streaks the team had in May or June, I forget) we'd have gotten a LOT for Shark. Yes, you're right. The Sox should've traded the guy they traded for in the off season 2-3 months into this season. Packing it in back in May/June would've been the way to go. Then his 3-4 month rental price would've brought a friggin boatload of prospects.
  18. Glass half full: the Sox were in every game. It's just typical of the season so far, finding ways to lose rather than finding ways to win. Royals find a way to win because they believe they are good enough to win a WS. Again, I'll take a .500 season. Get Sale and Shark back on track (do your f***ing job, Cooper) and there's a very good chance of that happening. Needle would be pointing up heading into next season. The most enjoyable part of this 2nd half so far has been the notion that Jeff Samardzija would somehow of brought a king's ransom in return for a trade. I do enjoy reading the lamentations of ST posters convinced that our farm system would somehow have been STOCKED by that trade to (?). Sox gambled and possibly lost. That's what they do, they roll the dice. But if they don't find a way to start winning in the next few weeks, it won't be a debilitating loss.
  19. what a horses*** way to end a game, but that's laz diaz for you
