  1. I liked him as a color guy with Rooney. Not play by play. Tries too hard to be "quippish"
  2. so many walks, so few innings. such is life. (Arabic proverb)
  3. they should cancel it now and save folks the trip to the park
  4. Many in SoCal sportsphere believe Albert's struggles are related to changing leagues and seeing both new and better pitching in the AL. Bat speed aside, could this also have been a contributing factor to Dunn's struggles of last season?
  5. walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk = loss on to tomorrow
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) You asked what we felt about the team. I feel terrible about the team because with SO many individual positives, the team is .500 and more importantly the team is s*** at home. I mean we should be able to easily overcome a bad hitting second baseman. I would argue that they have overcome a bad hitting 2nd baseman, and a hot/cold offense overall. To be .500 and 1 game out of the division lead after a month? That's some pretty serious pitching right there. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a collective "Oh s***" going on in Detroit when they look at what Peavy and the rest of the staff is doing.
  7. I'm desperately searching for positives in this offense, but they're hard to find. However, I would like to give yesterday's lineup a chance to succeed. Lillibridge and Escobar add considerably more speed and might help to manufacture a few runs, certainly more than Beckham and Morel can do with speed alone. I don't know what you give up on D, though.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 08:54 AM) Chuck Garfien ‏ @ChuckGarfien Jake Peavy is first in the American League in opponent batting average (.197). Next closest: Justin Verlander (.229). When do we trade him?
  9. Jon Heyman ‏ @JonHeymanCBS new #braves hitting coach greg walker doing a terrific job. atlanta is tied for 4th in runs. was 22nd last yr.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) Reed is closer material. going to be interesting if Santiago goes in the 9th
  11. putting way too much pressure on the pitching staff. Beckett certainly looks better than he did in the 1st, but c'mon. He's a shadow of his former self, guy doesn't throw over 92 any more.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) You wouldn't say that for long. Do you see some of the crap he swings at off of RHP? I'm not suggesting that he's going to be one of the top hitting infielders in the league, but I would bet next week's paycheck that he's .100 points better than Beckham, no doubt.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 07:01 PM) In previous years, we've been one of the most impatient organizations. In a rebuilding year, we need to be patient. They're wasting their time with Beckham.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 07:01 PM) Watch Ventura play Lilly tomorrow. He should play every day
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Changes have to be made on offense. I flat out hate our lefty pitcher lineup. Sox have to be one of the most patient organizations in professional sports. How the can keep running Gordon Beckham out as a starter is incredible. And now they're showing the same patience (ignorance?) with Morel.
  16. Classic, great weak (sic) for the offense
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 06:42 PM) Stras is on the mound, too. Rub it in!
  18. The bottom of the order in the bottom of the 9th...I should've gone to Harper's debut tonight. I blew it.
