I know that memory is always rosier than reality, but to this day I never had more fun following a Sox team than I did as a kid in '77. The crowds were insane, the unis were awesome and old comiskey was just a madhouse. It bordered on scary at times which I think added to the fun and excitement, if that makes sense.

    One more for the road.

Sox have played 107 games. They have scored three runs or less now in 57 of them. That's 53% of their games this year...that's not good.

    Mark

But we had an offensive outburst for like 2 weeks! Not fair!

That Shark trade is probably pissing everyone off. The A's turned Russell into Semien, Phegley and Bassit and the Sox turned Semien, Bassit and Phegley into a 2 WAR rental in a non competing year. Christ on a cookie.

    I hate reality

This is really disappointing. What a s*** show. This front office has a lot of work to do.

I'll take a .500 season, would love one or two above. That would be progress and a definite improvement on the first half of the season.

On the particular play you mention still can't see how you come to that conclusion that 3/4 of RF get that ball. 1st of all you have to know where he was starting from. If he was shaded towards center field that's a very long way to go to catch that ball. TV doesn't show you that . Mostly all we saw was Sanchez running out then veering off when Avi came into the picture.

And I've seen our OF and opposing team OF trying to get above the fence to rob HR's and most don't because of the padding lip they always hit their shoulder on which screws up their jump. Avi avoided doing that last night.

The Yankees broadcast crew sure were impressed on the play, and also with Garcia's arm. People either forget or refuse to accept that Avi is 24 and still getting better.

Rick has it easy and is paid a good wage to pick up KW's dry cleaning, find gifts for KW to give his wife, and picking up KW and JR's lunch every day.

C'mon man. Hahn isn't going anywhere. He really isn't the puppet he is made out to be.

I'll believe that when he's able to pick his own manager. It's true in any other major sport -- a GM's first big decision is the coach/manager he chooses to lead the team he builds. Rick inherited RV. Not saying he doesn't like him but that decision was all Kenny Williams, as Kenny will be happy to tell you.

So we are about to burn our farm system again to fund another one of Trader Kenny's long shots. Then again I look at data like losing 2 from the Cardinals and 3/4 from the Royals as a bit of a scary trend over sweeping 2 series from a couple of dogs.

This is the dilemma. If they compete with the Yankees this weekend we'll know better but of course, the deadline will have passed.

    Here come our beat writers:

Seeing reports involving White Sox asking about Upton and Cespedes. Both make great sense for White Sox going for it in short term

Good old Merkin regurgitating other people information. It's amazing none of these guys can scoop something. It's like they don't want to chase down leads.

Merkin's last scoop was Rocky Road, right into his mouth
