  1. after verlander this team is so meh. I don't think fisther is going to keep fooling people either.
  2. we've scored 4 each of the last 2 times vs. Verlander. Johnny has to be good.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Where the hell is JR in all of this? Take some action for once. How many years of this crap between Ozzie, Kenny, and Marty34 do we have to live through? If how he handled the Bulls is any indication, it will get ugly first.
  4. What's all of this "blow him up" stuff - KW's extra-marital activities?
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) As opposed to "my source was wrong" without giving anything on it? how many times has Cowley cried wolf over some "major move coming" and nothing happens? Two years ago he was saying that the Ozzie/KW thing was beyond repair, yet they continue to work together. I get where he's coming from when he says he makes up s***.
  6. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Far be it from me to rain on anyone's parade, but the loss column means less than it normally does because we're playing two doubleheaders in September to "make up" some of those games we haven't played that Detroit has. you're peeing on the parade - can't double-headers be swept?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) Well, Sox mentioned it last year. Peavy said he developed bad habits in those glorious, ever-important three starts in 2009, and that the habits rolled over into 2010 where his mechanics put more stress than usual on his body. Dude, did you read yesterday's quotes? The guy seriously has an excuse for EVERYTHING. He's not juicing any more, arm shot. /
  8. To be fair, I think Dunn went into semi-retirement when he signed his big deal. Like Peavy, the off season can't come fast enough for him.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) After this weekend it finally is over. I would think Jerry will start the housecleaning after this weekend series. you're predicting failure this weekend? I'm appalled. But seriously, the Sox are playing better ball these days, coming off another winning month in August, and playing with nothing to lose and everything to gain. I think Detroit's sphincter factor tightens up this weekend and we take 2 if not 3 (if Danksy Cat can keep us in the 1st game). And hopefully KC finds a way to bring us back to 4 out in the loss column today.
  10. Where does Peavy get off talking about how he just wants to get to the off season so he can return to normal? What a f***ing asshole. I've been a defender of this guy up to today but no more, not after those remarks he made. Narcissistic jag. The Tigers magic # is what, 24? And this guy is talking like it's over.
  11. "Hopefully, further in my career, I'll be the guy that they want up there," Lillibridge said. "I always want to be in there to get the opportunity to win a game or at least give us a chance to win. But I trust in [bench coach] Joey [Cora] and Ozzie and the decisions they make." "Dunn can go up there and hit the ball out of the ballpark or walk," Guillen said. "Obviously, he struck out, but that's the matchup I liked the best. Unfortunately, it didn't work."
  12. showed some fight after being in the hole. Back-to-back sweeps of the Twins? I must've been dreaming. But I'll live with 5 of the last 6 and hope that ozzie's blunders haven't dashed the mojo coming from that dugout. It's going to be tough to overcome 5 games in the loss column but there's still a lot of baseball left. Picking up one game this weekend doesn't feel like enough.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 01:57 PM) Fathom, go ahead and add this one to your "10 games that got away" After a 6 run deficit in the 1st??
  14. I just would've rather given Lilli the chance. Man, that was the pitch to hit.
