  1. Danks, Floyd, Buehrle vs. Verlander, Penny, Scherzer this weekend, for those still following baseball.
  2. looking at the pitching matchups this has Chicago White Sox sweep written all over it. Hope Sox fans get off their asses and show up to support this team (even if they don't support Kenny or Jerry or Ozzie or Walker or Oney).
  3. Still in. Great weekend in Seattle, was there and had a blast. Got busted by AJ when I was bird-dogging his wife while walking around Pikes market (she wears a sundress very well). My wife also busted me (still worth it). Viciedo is exciting and there's a month left so what the hell, I'm choosing optimism.
  4. I'm tipping my cap to the Tigers. I still believe the Sox are more talented but they smelled blood and took control of the division. Still praying/wishing/hoping for a September collapse, of course, but not counting on it.
  5. @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Sources: #Indians awarded claim on Thome, #WhiteSox awarded claim on Kubel. Thome has no-trade clause; preference is Phillies
  6. And Avila may well be the reason no one will catch the Tigers.
  7. yay - Seattle decided to finally play good right before we come to town
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 10:13 AM) I'm still a bit baffled by this "Detroit is solid" talk. They have a total run differential on the season of +5. They're leading what is clearly the worst division in MLB. They've had a weak schedule, which is of course a function of playing the AL Central, and they have a unique ballpark that gives them a pretty large homefield advantage against weaker teams The Sox aren't going to catch them barring a miracle, but I can't see how people have decided a team that can't run away with this year's AL Central is a monster. thank you. couldn't agree more.
  9. he has a full no-trade clause and I don't see him going from one loser to another, not unless the twins ask him too.
  10. and that, in a nutshell, is our offensive season.
  11. get them over at the very least you sack of turds
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) Can someone describe Rios' double? flyball that just narrowly split the gap, both LF and CF
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) I have to admit, I'm glad the Tigers are winning. Two reasons--I'm tired of the White Sox teases, and I'd rather see a team from the Central win 90 games than go in with 84-86. I'll keep the flag flying until after we play the kitties 6 times in the first two weeks of September. ah, who am i s***ting. root for detroit? not a f***ing chance.
  14. the detroit trip to tampa not going at all as planned
  15. remember when paulie asked the ump to make Santana tuck in his shirt, then took him deep?
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) I have the feeling they are going to be bad for many years. The central might finally be evolving again. Indians have some nice young players and if the Royals ever put it together...
  17. At least Minny is losing big. (remember when that used to mean something?)
  18. none of this would've happened if dunn could field for s***.
  19. wow - they came ready to play behind Buehrle today
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) Without reading through the rest of the thread first, the answer is absolutely not. Jim Thome deserves a chance to get to another World Series. He would not have that chance here. It should be our job as a loyal former team to allow him to pass by us. If the Indians want to play the bad guy and pick him up, despite also having no chance at a title, then let them.
