  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) Floyd Peavy Humber Sale ? That's awful That's why I don't think they lose Danks.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Floyd has to be an untouchable right now, as it's very likely he's the only guy in the rotation last year that you can pencil in for 25-30 starts. People don't grasp how awful and fragile our rotation could be next year. Think Danks will be dealt in the off season?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) It's cause Ozzie is a coward. Still can't believe we let Delmon get away with his antics last season. I blame the leadership on the bench, not the coach. Not an apologist, just think that has to come from the players. And while I love PK, he is NOT that kind of guy.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) Minnesota owns the Sox, we all know that, but part of the reason is the Sox attitude towards them all throughout the organization. Spend more time working on kicking their ass than you do kissing their ass and the results may be different. Apparently the other teams in the league don't have much problem against them. how many times has this rivalry gotten heated? Not once that I can recall. Then look at the yankees/red sox, dodgers/giants, cubs/cardinals even. Much more bad blood. Hate to say it, our guys are kind of p*****s when it comes to that stuff.
  5. Dunn. It's nice to see him get some national attention. One of the worst seasons in the modern era?
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) That's possible. But when your team is sucking ass why s*** on the fans? We're angry enough with the play on the field and now we have to hear this pompous tool talk down to us? Totally unacceptable. I know it sounds completely unfounded and flies in the face of all evidence to the contrary, but I still think we're going to win this division and go deep in the playoffs.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) Of course. There are idiots everywhere on this planet. Not sure why you think it's cool for a public figure to call his paying customers idiots though. I take it you're not a season ticket holder. if they were winning you wouldn't give a s***. He'd be "colorful" and not some Jim Tracy clone.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) That's irrelevant. You don't insult your paying customers. You know, the people that pay your salary. so you do agree, some are idiots.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) Is there any other manager in baseball who routinely calls the fans idiots? you don't agree that some are?
  10. I'm not sure I agree that all of the blame lies with Guillen as you stated, Jason. Or at least, he's the one you've focused on from the general "organizational" responsibility. But that's the nature of managers, they're designed to take the fall, so let it be with Ozzie. I agree that he's said and done things that make you believe he's reckless and indifferent but I'm not sure if that isn't part of his schtick. I've seen him looking at binders and match-ups during the games, I don't believe for a minute that he doesn't look at scouting reports. Guillen has always tried to cultivate an "old-school" persona when it comes to his managerial style. I think he's done a fine job of trying to instill confidence in our starting pitchers, and I agree with his philosophy that a successful club begins and ends with its pitching staff. But I refuse to hold him accountable for the poor performance from the likes of Dunn and Rios, no matter where they bat in the order. How many more wins would we have if Dunn batted 9th and never against lefties? Zip. We'll all get our wish for a new manager next season. We can only hope it's someone with the chops to turn things around. But even the ghost of Connie Mack isn't going to suddenly turn Dunn into a reliable offensive threat, or relieve Rios of his headcase, or take the loop out of Beckham's swing, or make all of them disciplined hitters who start taking walks. I believe Ozzie has played the hand he's been dealt. He asked for a new hand after '04, got it, and parlayed it into a WS. Has he made mistakes? More than Fathom has pointed out, to be sure. But how much of this disappointing season is truly on him?....less than you're giving him credit for.
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) Haha, that was terribly clever. it's hard finding humor in this season. Hope you know I meant no ill will.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Why, so we get embarrassed in the playoffs? No thanks! if you say so, notradumbass
  13. no offense, but I can't imagine rooting against the white sox. I can see if it was one game and the difference between winning and losing was drafting a sure-thing prospect with the 1st pick...but rooting against them because maybe you don't like the coach/GM/certain players? Root against guys like Paul Konerko, Mark Buehrle and the team as a whole? I don't get it. I'd rather root for a 10 game winning streak that puts us right back in it.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Just lose every game. why? you're not seriously rooting for loss
