  1. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Sox keep winning they will start to believe they are buyers again ... which they are not. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) Timing could not be any worse for false hope in front office.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) Everytime Avi comes to bat I feel like he has no plan/clue on what's coming next, similarly to LaRoche. I don't know...I kind of liked that he was ready to hit on a 2-0 count. He just pulled a string
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 04:58 PM) I would really like to see LaRoche dealt. Do they bring someone else up to back up at 1b or is it flowers?
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) Do they let that guy keep his drum at the park, or does he have to haul it to the nosebleeds each game? great question. And is he the same guy from old memorial stadium, just older?
  5. nice story about Aviles and CLE telling him he wouldn't be traded so he can be with his daughter as she gets treatment for leukemia
  6. Now Sale can just pump strikes. This should be fun
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 05:32 AM) Good stuff, Ginger. Then, Sox should not trade Shark, right? Unless a deal comes along that blows you away
  8. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) Too bad the season is over.....in July yet again. Melky took 2 months to figure things out, Alexi appears to be coming around just in time for the last 60 games of the season.... It's depressing. When does football start? CAMP OPENS NEXT WEEK! But the Sox will be 3 out of the WC by then so you're going to be torn.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) Sox have lost the casual fan in Chicago for good. I am a diehard I watch no matter what, but most people have no interest in the Sox. No one used to watch the blackhawks. Now the televise their skate arounds. I remember going with my dad to a Bulls game in the early 80s and that place was a tomb. Then they drafted this guy out of North Carolina. It can turn around. As for the 2nd article, I believe it's true that this collection of players is PLAYING very poorly, however, I don't think that means they're bad baseball players. And there are too many threads and discussions as to why that's the case to go into here. And since I'm leaning "glass half full" I'll throw out this... --We lost some tough games to the Royals and Cards coming out of the break, games that could've gone our way and didn't. I consider those 2 of the best teams in the game right now. --We were playing solid going into the break and it looked like the worm was turning a bit. This trip to cleveland and boston could put them right back on that step. --PITCHING. At the end of the day you can have a fantastic offense but if you have s***ty pitching more times than not you'll come out on the losing end. Sox have very good pitching and lo and behold, it really seems to be coming together at the right time. Yes, the right time. --We're 6 back in the loss column against MIN. We were 5 back going into the break. Haven't lost a lot of ground despite the punishment from KC and STL. --Is it really feasible that the sox could go the rest of the season averaging a few runs a game? I guess it could happen but isn't there at least the very real possibility for a correction of some sort? Doesn't have to be a lot to put this pitching staff on the winning side. I think we've already seen the correction in their defense. --I really haven't seen any signs that players are quitting. You can see it on other teams with similar losing records but this team has managed to hold together. Robin Ventura might be the worst manager in the history of baseball dating to 1901, but they haven't quit on him. --f*** it, I'm calling it right now. We're making the playoffs this year. And that's not my medical marijuana card talking...or maybe it is and I agree with it. I've used my allotment of negativity for the season (except for Tyler Flowers, I loathe him as much as Navarro and will continue to despise him until I rejoice in reading those three letters after his name, D - F - A)
  10. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 11:47 AM) #BlueJays remain in active discussions with #WhiteSox about Jeff Samardzija. @FOXSports https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/624605747100319746 The last time KW traded for Toronto pitching it was a bust. Hope Rick is behind any decision they make.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) What about Sale & Shark to the Dodgers. We know the Dodgers are looking for 2 pitchers and they want at least one of them to be cost-controlled. We have talked Q & Shark, but what about Sale & Shark. Could you get Puig / Urias / Seager / Joc? I highly doubt it as the Dodgers would be pulling 2 guys from their actual lineup (and not sure how they would fill those offensive holes). Do they really need fielders with that pitching staff? Grienke, Sale, Shark, Kershaw.
  12. Danks pitched great and these last 2 starts should not go unnoticed with the deadline approaching. Package him with Alexei to Pitt
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:15 PM) 1-5, deja vu to start of the season ah yes, thanks.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) Screw it, let Micah Johnson DH. He'd bring much more to the table offensively than LaRoche right now. Would also get him some much needed experience while also allowing him to get some time in the field. that makes too much sense. and honestly, they forced to watch Dunn's futility for FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS, so why should this be any different?
  15. How is Schuck not a better option at DH than LR at this point? I mean isn't it obvious this guy is struggling?
  16. I hereby proclaim this offensive slump ended. Tonight.
  17. Maybe Jerry will learn something from the Bears if they manage to start turning things around. Going outside to bring in help was never their strong suit but pressure finally forced their hand.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 07:54 PM) Good thing Robin keeps letting LaRoche bat vs. LHP. Can LaRoche please retire? But he's such a leader and a team guy. He did his FA presser over the phone, and didn't show up to soxfest, but he's a real leader. (wow I'm f***ing bitter!)
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Just DL Abreu He's getting paid quite well to drive in runs. And failing.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) He's not a super duper star but he's really good. I think his thumb is really jacked up too. agreed. Above average player and a solid signing. MVP? No.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 06:57 PM) Move Alexei and put Tyler at SS the rest of the year. and bring up Davidson - might as well.
