  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) What's that? i jinxed the poor bastard
  2. Clayton Kershaw is a stud. Feels like we're watching the makings of a HOF career.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 11:56 AM) Teahen's been fine at 3rd this year. He made a great play last night. it's just a waiting game - you know he's going to screw up and he's going to do it when they can least afford it. He is not a good 3b. You know this.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) Morel hasn't been stellar on D yet eitehr. but he's better than teahen and he's got more talent. I think you need to let him ride this out.
  5. How does compromising defense when you're team is struggling to score runs make sense? I don't like this, I want Morel out there. If the rest of these veterans weren't struggling then he would be and no one would be holding it against him. He wouldn't need a "mental day off" which sounds like a lame excuse to find more offense from that position.
  6. hey, look who else is in the optimist camp:
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 05:41 AM) Hearing that makes Gingers post make a lot more sense to me. I think the shoulder stiffness thing was the outlier, and not the lat. maybe he can be back on track sooner than later. I hate to say it, but his doc didn't think he would pitch again until July. So far he's been right on everything else.
  8. Tim Brown wrote a terrific article on the McCourts and how they've to run this thing into the ground. And while I applaud Selig for taking action, I also blame him for ever letting them buy the franchise in the 1st place. Tim Brown
  9. I'm staying in this thread - the other one scares me. Like a honey badger.
  10. ALEXI When do we get to start picking players from the opposing team?
  11. It's Omar time. You gotta admit, they played better when they started playing him more.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) Best way to put it is we're just playing like a very bad baseball team right now. If you start thinking of players who have played well for Sox, really I'd only say Quentin, Danks and Santos (and Konerko as of 48 hours ago). You're not going to win when you have so many players underachieving. played terrible to end last season (8 game losing streak in Sept.) and starting off this season with this slide...I'll admit, it doesn't look good. I believe in talent and I believe the sox have it, but you're just digging yourself a hole falling 8-9 games back in April...which is easily where this could be next week.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) Make more BS excuses about opposing pitchers........BLAH.........BLAH..........Guillen There isn't anyone on the planet who's more sick of this s*** than Guillen is.
  14. per Merkin: the white sox have trailed for the last 51 innings. at some point you just have to laugh
  15. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) Nothing. I stopped reading there. It's April. It's 7 games. They were going to lose 7 this year, it was just a matter of when. if they're cleansing the colon now, fine. But this team and the month of August are a bad mix.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) Sale's fastball was strong tonight! Between that, Rios with two good swings, and Dunn making contact twice....it's a moral victory! optimism!
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) It's time Chairman Reinsdorf. It's time. I don't have a very good read on Jerry. He's loyal to a fault. But i'm inclined to think that he would blame players first, staff second.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) Once again, Beckham's too late to load and can't get the barrel on the ball. f*** it, let him go back to the Sheffield wiggle cause this bulls*** isn't working for him. let him go back to Charlotte, I say.
