  1. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) I do hate John Danks. Probably not since Danny Wright have I wanted a White Sox pitcher to be gone. I paid good money for primo seats to a game he pitched against the Angels. Sox lost 19-0. My hatred for Danny > yours!
  2. Folks, we have officially reached the "they're so bad it's good" phase of the season. With the exception of Abreu, Sale and Avi, I really don't care for any of these players so whatever happens happens. I don't hate the others but let's just say if I were 10 years old and opened a pack of Topps I'd toss their card aside. As it is now, I chuckle when Flowers whiffs or let's a ball get by his fat ass. I still like Danks because he seems like a really good guy but a really bad pitcher. And I still don't think Robin Ventura is a bad coach. He might be good, he might be bad, but when you give him this s*** box and tell him to make it sing, what's he supposed to do?

  4. WE'RE STILL IN THIS! IT'S NOT OVER! AND I'M VERY HIGH!
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) Look, I'm as frustrated as anyone with this team. But Rick Hahn did a tremendous job over the offseason of putting this roster together. Yes, he should be taking more action now, and I think we'll see some very soon, but coming into the year, I was pleased with his work. Before the season, the general concerns on this site were -Catcher -Second base -Back of rotation -Bullpen We were right, as these positions have not performed well for us. However, how could you fault Rick Hahn for the performance of proven veterans? Melky's .240 batting average could not have been predicted, given that he has excelled in recent seasons, even post-steroids. Samardzija is coming off a ~3.00 ERA season, Eaton is supposed to be a .300 hitter, Alexei has never hit this poorly in a season, etc. My point is, it seems as if almost everything has gone wrong this year, but it's not Hahn's fault, because our players are severely underperforming. That is out of his control. I can and do blame Rick Hahn. That comes with the job. He took a swing and he whiffed. And it's not like Hahn hasn't had a hand and voice in the management of this team for the last several years. I think the Sox could really benefit from having a team president not named Kenny Williams.
  6. If firing Robin and hiring someone else makes these guys stop playing like trash then I would be completely shocked and admit that I was wrong, a manager really can make that big of a difference. But first, fire Hahn, the Harvard genius who put the group together. Fire Buddy Bell who's evaluation and development of talent has left the Sox bereft of any support whatsoever from the minor leagues to help this team. Fire Kenny Williams for his years of mediocrity. The only reason I hated to see Robin hired is that I knew some day he would be fired. He's one of my favorite Sox players of all time and I hate to see this s***boat of a team drag down his standing.
  7. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) K, now ride that momentum all the way into October.
  8. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) Yep, it's the lug nut. Fixed it.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) Hate to say this but the Sox blew it last offseason by being loyal. He was never available to anyone but the Cubs. It's the only reason he left.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) My dream owner is Cuban. MLB won't let it happen. Why? He won one championship, right? And became a media whore who drew more attention to himself than the team. I've never understood his appeal.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) I know this is surprising from me, but I don't even blame Ventura for this mess. The players just flat out suck this season on this team. Never seen a group of veterans just all underachieve like this in the same year. with the exception of Abreu and Avi, there is no offense. Cabrera and Eaton have proven to be huge disappointments. Lexi's regression is beyond frustrating but seriously, he can't be relied upon to carry an offense. LaRoche has shown signs of coming around but I'm no longer waiting for a miraculous turnaround. I wish MLB allowed teams to trade draft picks because we could use them.
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) There were not 50-60 pitchers better than him during that time (which is what a #3 would be). If he hadn't gotten hurt the extension would have been fine. They've already made up their mind that he's a "piece of s***" so facts aren't going to get in the way.
  13. Flowers like to save his hits for situations when we're losing big and 0 runners on.
  14. He's only given up 2 runs in 4 IP. Makes no difference if the offense can't hit this AAA sub.
  15. I love Johnny Danks, it's a shame to see his skills so deteriorated and ineffective
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Welcome to the post steroid era. Someone definitely needs to develop a new class of drugs undetectable by current testing
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 08:34 AM) Hopefully keep the team in the game Danks shows up tonight. Even when Danks was at his peak, when he was bad, he was really bad. He just is bad more often these days. Seems like it's a constant struggle for him to keep his changeup down. When he does he's really effective. When he leaves it over the plate he gets shelled.
