  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) I really think Oz is gone after this season. It all makes too much sense. He's off to Florida where he can work in the NL. He'll love Florida and nobody cares about baseball there so he'll be much more calm. Sox will get LaRussa likely; Torre if they can offer him huge bucks and if LaRussa doesn't want to leave St. Looie. Torre will go to the Mets, imo.
  2. Sox's lineup: Lillibridge 2b A. Ramirez ss Rios cf Konerko 1b M. Ramirez dh Jones lf Quentin rf Castro c Morel 3b Floyd p
  3. I laughed typing their respective ERAs and records. Start of a 13 game win streak to finish with 92 wins.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) Until one of our players winds up dead via DUI. that's pretty juvenile
  5. nice position on that one, mark -- you almost had it!
  6. kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy about our farm system, don't it?
  7. KW will keep him around for another season, you watch
  8. so predictable. This bullpen has been s*** for a long, long time.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) Jeez Ozzie, get off your f***ing ass and pull him before he hurts himself even more. better to let him give up the lead 1st
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 06:24 PM) Wow, very impressive by Morel!! Me thinks he's going to be the 3b for Sox next season. yep
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) Mark Teahen is playing himself out of baseball when his contract is up. Never seen a hitter look so clueless against offspeed pitches. he looks mentally shaken by his season as well. frustrated and lost, no confidence in the field.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) You mean season? Yeah. He got hurt long before that series. Frank pwned Johan in game 1. The series against the A's, I thought that was when he went down but I guess it was before then.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) I love how the Twins are somehow the epitome of playoff failure because they keep losing to the Yankees every year. The other years they've made it they lost to the Angels, the eventual World Series champion in 2002, and the A's in 2006 (the latter being the only year in which you could say they choked). wasn't that the series where Liriano blew out his arm?
  14. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) I'm not sure I'd say they're head and shoulders a better team. Difference being...their players EXECUTED and came through at the plate and their pitching has been solid. that's the thing to me, they don't appear to be that much better. But when you're 1/2 game from having the best record in MLB for the season, then you have to give them some measure of credit. The Sox haven't been great, but they're not in a nosedive either. They're 30-12 since August 1st, the Sox 21-22. the question is, how long can they sustain that torrid pace? all the way to a WS championship? I can't see them beating either the Rays or the Yankees in the first round, and it's starting to look like that's who they'll get.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Agreed. It matters not. Our team is in a freefall. they played about .500 ball in August, they're just under .500 in September. Free fall? Hardly. The Twins are just a better team, it pains me to say it, but they're playing exceptional baseball right now.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Just checking in to see the score, why am I not surprised we are losing? Our assholes are the size of sewer lids being the b****es of the Twinkies. hope you get the chance to see how Konerko got hit in the face by a pitch, refused to come out, and hit a homer his next at bat.
