  1. QUOTE (rafacosta @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) carlos quentin....im tired fo you streakiness and injured prone playing... oh haven't you heard, he's close
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) Don't worry, he still is the king of the chopper up the middle. and don't forget the atom ball - that dude has hit some ROPES this season
  3. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) Na he knows the 1 run they have will beat them.
  4. glad to see him going at hitters. feels like he's been trying to be too perfect lately.
  5. DET is rolling. good thing they don't have the pitching to sustain it.
  6. don't worry -- he'll single the next time up w/no one on base
  7. it's cool -- lead off walks NEVER come around to score anyway
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Yeah, Jermaine Dye. who can actually run, play the outfield and hit with power from the left side. .857 OPS since the break. HILARIOUS!
  9. it's nice to still have a chance in August. Think of all the teams and their fans who can't say that.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) According to Bill Simmons, Damon's coming back to Boston. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Boston-...-waivers-082310 where in that article does it say bill simmons said he is coming back? I can't find it.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) Minny has 4 at Texas, I see them going 2/4. Sox sweep and we make up 1.5 ? Twins lose 3 of 4 vs. Texas, Sox win 2 of 3 vs. O's. We go into weekend series against yankmees 3 games back in the loss column. Sox win 2 of 3 vs. NYC, Twins lose 2 of 3 vs. Seattle. Sox go into CLE 2 games back in loss column.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 06:48 AM) I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise. i just think they get more out of their talent. Something tells me that if Beckham were on the Twins he'd be an all-star.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 05:08 PM) Am I the only one who remembers the mid to late 80's? i recall some brutal times there as well. It's hard to try and relate how disappointing '83 was, since it was so long ago and people don't get it. the funny thing about this season is that by the end of May I had pretty much accepted that this season was a failure, so when the big run came in June I was pleased but more surprised. Seeing them fade now is tough, but for some reason not as tough as if they'd been in it all year. The first two months of this season were just DISGUSTING. and no, i'm not saying it's over. but they've dug themselves yet another deep hole from which to climb out of.
