  1. i met this ump at a wedding in san diego. Told me he likes Ozzie.
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Will I ever see this lineup? LF - Pierre SS - A-Ram CF - Rios 1B - Konerko RF - Quentin C - AJP DH - Viciedo 2B - Beckham 3B - Vizquel send it to ozzie's hotmail - he admits that he likes it and has even used suggestions.
  3. But the twins are very reluctant to deal their prospects for impact players at the deadline. I remember Morneau expressing his frustration and I'm sure there are a lot of players on that team who wish they would've made moves before the deadline that could've turned some of those division winning years into WS seasons. Personally, I don't want the Twins system. I respect it, but I'd rather have the "go for it" attitude of Kenny than that conservative approach.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) You're actually talking about several different individual people and lumping them all together into a single stream of consciousness. But aren't those all individual arguments for the same thing, ie, "I want Ozzie and KW gone"?
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Probably followed by people hating that there arent impact players in the minors, while clamoring to make big trades at the deadline by dealing top prospects. so, so true
  6. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Andruw is having a pretty good game. he's still fun to watch, isn't he?
  7. when will one of these worthless beat reporters start asking why Dayan doesn't DH?
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) We have Viciedo but he's stuck on the bench 99% of the time. you're right, he does need to see more time at DH. But he's brutal in the field.
  9. nice to see Brennan Boesch coming back to earth. Now if Pavano would re-discover his Yankeeness...
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) I think KW's answer at DH is going to be Viciedo/Teahen. too bad he doesn't make out the lineup cards
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I meant that the Sox going on a 25-5 run and currently being in first place doesn't answer any deeper, macro-level questions about the overall direction of the organization, its philosophy, what we look like for 2011, what our chances are if we reach the playoffs, how we fare against our own divisional opponents, roster management, and so on. It just means this team was ridiculously hot for 6 weeks and went 25-5, so hot that they caught up and landed in first place. It doesn't tell you how good (obviously not THAT good because maintaining that level of play is impossible) or bad (obviously not bad because bad teams can't win 25 of 30 games) they are. It's not an answer to anything in itself. Thanks for the clarification.
  12. These match ups which on paper look like a sure thing always make me nervous. I hope G gets up for it still, like he did vs. Felix last week.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) That's really not at all what I said. My question was sincere, I'm asking what you mean.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Well "this team is in first place and recently went 25-5" is a pretty lazy argument and doesn't really say anything worthwhile all by itself. It would be like saying "you must be pretty well off because you drive a BMW" how are those 2 things remotely similar? you don't have to have money to driver a BMW, i get that. But you don't have to be a good team to go 25-5 and overcome a 9 game deficit to be in first place?
  15. Saunders really took the news hard, very tearful
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) What I'd have loved to hear is "Yeah, I sucked today, but you know what, it was a bad day, I'm going to go out my next couple outings and earn that job back." yes, that would be better than the denial. I'm dying to know where he's hiding his curveball. Maybe he should go back to the stretch?
