  1. I don't know about you guys but I like watching Freddy pitch. Changing speeds and ball movement...nothing over powering. Remember when this guy used to hit 96 with Seattle?
  2. for as good as he's been playing, alex hasn't been that hot with RISP. please PK, no DP
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) And Buster has heard it from the same place we all heard it, in the Tribune this morning. Cowley is gnashing his teeth that he reported it 1st.
  4. No Ozzie tonight. Got a feeling that Ramirez, Beckham and Rios are going to lead us tonight, and Freddy will bounce back and keep the Rays off balance. Hope we see Q back in the lineup.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) Like you said, I don't care what his batting average is right now. I'd rather he have a game like last night where he hits everything hard and gets one hit than a game where he gets two infield singles and strikes out the other at bats. The problem is that every time it looks like he's coming out of it, he'll have a 2 game stretch where he strikes out 6 times and looks overmatched. I think the consistency is on the way -- he really did look better last night against a very good pitcher. With Q though I have yet to see anything. He's fallen and can't get up.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:47 AM) Unless this team falls into a death spiral, no one is going anywhere. Even if that happens, Ozzie is the only one on the hot seat IMO. I feel like they've been barely circling the drain all season and wouldn't be one bit surprised to see the dreaded "death spiral" take effect at some point. This offense is just not very good at all and if the pitching falters the team has no chance.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 27, 2010 -> 06:39 PM) This year sucks. yes, it does.
  8. what's cooper going to say? "hey scott, don't suck so bad?"
  9. yep...almost an act of concession anymore when we go to linebrink or williams.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 27, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) I hate watching my favorite team play a style of baseball that I absolutely despise. Look no further then the Rays who take pitches and work at-bats to get pitches that they can drive. The White Sox, instead, operate under the assumption that EVERY pitch can be driven. and that's kind of the scary thing if they decide to bring up some young guys in the next month or so if this disaster doesn't turn around. I like Ozzie but I don't really get the feeling he's much of a teacher, same with Walker. There is no organizational philosophy to pass on. TEAHEN on the board.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 27, 2010 -> 05:54 PM) Take a f***ing pitch, Kotsay. Why don't any of these bastards work a count? because most are veterans who do their own thing - it's what ozzie and walker like to coach because it's easier. I'm thoroughly impressed with what leyland is doing with 8 rookies on his roster this season.
  12. good start by Gavin, glad to see he's coming around. 3 runs to this team in 6 IP is nothing to hang your head about.
  13. 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings? I'll take it. The offense is just over-matched
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 27, 2010 -> 05:15 PM) PitchFX has it as a strike: I thought they were supposed to be accurate. That graph is whacked.
  15. in Kotsay's defense, that pitch was way outside. Niemann in absolute control.
