  1. Gavin's velocity looks pretty good tonight, if the gun is to be believed
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) Comeback Player of the Year. Just keep it going. Fingers crossed. Jordan Danks 2/2, but just CS. Just saying. We know that Pierre is going to be there no matter how many times he rolls weak GB's to 2B. Is he ready though?
  3. this feels like the longest April of all time, like they've played 40 games instead of 16.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) According to weather.com, chance of precip for game time is only 10%. well that's good - i was using that new "future" look at TWC
  5. looks like it could be a rain out, which will be good for randy williams, aka, the sacrificial lamb.
  6. it would be good to have a vocal vet like Carl around to try and shake their cages, but who knows? Lost control of this team? What's there for Ozzie to control right now other than lineups? He's not a psychologist.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) His reactions at 3rd are comical. Looks like someone who's never played the position before. he looks slow and nonathletic to me, and his throws never seem to have any rhythm. I love how Beltre always stops and throws off two feet.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:08 AM) Kotsay also is slow as s*** on the bases. For all this versatility talk we heard during ST, there sure hasn't been a lot of creativity from Ozzie. please, Jim is Herman f***ing Munster on the bases.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) How about Kotsay? The guy whose performing the same role for us (and making the same money) as Thome is for the Twins. meh. Thome's got 5 hits in 22 ABs, Kotsay 3 in 25 ABs. Jim does have 2 dingers, but he's still slow as s*** on the bases and can't play anything but DH, while Kotsay can play a slick 1B or even the outfield in a pinch.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:45 AM) I also believe Ozzie had a huge say in not bringing back Dye or Thome. thank god. I'm enjoying Rios and Jones.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) I really liked Mark Kotsay batting 3rd after losing the first two games of a series. I'm not defending Kotsay .120 avg., or the decision to bat him 3rd, but it's funny to think about what we'd be saying if he was riding the pine out of the gate after hitting .382 in ST. People would be screaming for ozzie to play him with this offense tanking like it is. For some reason Kotsay seems like the focal point of all this frustration with the offense. This when our #3 hitter is like 0-20 right now and playing terrible defense in the field.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) I agree. There's a big difference between taking a dump on the rest of the season and realizing that they can't dig themselves too big a hole. Forget about the wildcard. That's coming from the AL east. We HAVE to win the division. And the Twins are looking to make that extremely difficult. I said before the season if Liriano is really "back" that we were in deep s***. yes I agree and if the twinkies continue on a .733 pace and win 118 games then they certainly deserve it. I hope these guys take what Ozzie said tonight to heart - just go out and have fun instead of each one of them trying to put the team on their back and carry it. What the hell, can it possibly get any worse? They were pretty f'n cocky coming out of Glendale and they got their asses kicked. Lets see what they're made of.
  13. its going to be interesting to hear the postgame on this one.
