  1. QUOTE (Sox72 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) And ARod rather than Teahan. Or Mauer rather than AJ. meh
  2. that is a solid motherf***ing win over the hottest team in baseball
  3. i thought this prick really tried to show up the sox in 08. love to see him get tagged.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) That doesn't change the fact that he's your most talented and important offensive player and 3 starts back his overall numbers were still very good and he was coming off a 6 RBI game. You can take chunks of games and make someone look horrible, it's not hard. Konerko's hitting .130 over his last 6, why are we leaving him in the 4 hole? Rios has a .316 OBP and .649 OPS over his last 5, doesn't sound like a 3 hole hitter to me. Personally, I want Teahen hitting 3rd as he's sporting a .438/.550/.750/1.300 line over his last 6 games. for an offense that's floundering what difference does it make to move him down, take some pressure off and hope that he straightens it out?
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) Going into the final game of the Toronto series he was sporting a .281/.439/.563/1.002 line. You don't move him down in the order because of 3 bad games. .111 in his last 7 games, 3/27 I just think Rios is swinging the best bat. He's also hit Price pretty well.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) I thought you were joking because Kotsay had been in the 3-slot previously. No, TCQ is a very talented guy, he's someone you don't demote in the order this quickly. Kotsay should never have been there to begin with. blew my chance to sound clever.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) LOL you wouldn't rather see rios or jones there?
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) I love watching him pitch. There's a lot of Buehrle in him. he always said he learned a lot at Mark's side. Good to see it working out for him.
  9. nice outing by Richard against the Giants.
  10. I know this team can play better. Whether or not they will remains to be seen, or whether or not it will be too late by the time they do.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:31 PM) This reply made about as much sense as your original post did. Congrats. thanks.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) A lot of venom is always tossed at the negative posters who add no value with their mindless whining about the team, but here is a perfect example of how blind optimism can provide just as little or even less inherent value. No one here is blaming Ozzie for Gavin's horrendous start, but if I really wanted to be a spinmaster I could attribute his poor pitching to the pressure that is put on him by walking into the stadium and seeing Mark Kotsay in the three hole for the offense that is supposed to put up runs for you. Obviously a stretch, and I'm hardly serious, but I hope you see what I'm trying to do here. not much. and i would hardly characterize my post as venomous.
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) It's good to see that you're optimism isn't getting in the way of you seeing the giants holes in the current makeup of this team. Holes that they are demonstrating presently. the implication is that I'm in denial. Could be, but 13 games into the season? Mid April? I just don't get the proclamations of death. Have you noticed that the bullpen has been and continues to be outstanding? That hitters are batting WAY below their career averages? Would you not concede that there is a slight possibility of them returning to the mean, even slightly? And if so, would it not make sense that they would start winning more games? Patience is all I'm saying. But it is fun to read the hysterical rants.
  14. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) I see the Hitless Wonders are making the Tribe look like world beaters again... it gets even better: Ozzie's done irreparable harm to the team and its future, this season is a complete wash and disaster 13 games into the season and there's zero chance of this team turning it around. Ozzie is entirely to blame for the slow start at the plate and probably to blame for Gavin's lack of control today. I may have missed a few points, but that's about it.
  15. f*** the Twins. And f*** the Tigers too. I hate the slow start as much as anyone but I'm very far from packing it in. This club goes 7-3 over its next ten and a lot you are going to have to start scaling the walls of that cliff. Enjoy!
