  1. team batting average .205, worst in the majors. there's only one way to go boys, and that's up
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Ozzie's career will end in an Al Campanis sort of way. i'd love to see ozzie drunk on nightline
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 05:56 AM) http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/soxnet/201...usly-ozzie.html I realize he is defending Rios, but dude, this doesn't look good, not at all. It's funny how people can react differently to stuff they read, but when I read Ozzie's quote I laughed out loud. To me it's genuinely funny and he's kind of got a point. Rios was being harassed.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) I'm not sure what you guys are referring to when you talk about the neighborhood integration of Camden Yards. Yeah it looks like that on TV, but the park is right in the middle of downtown Baltimore. Those buildings you see on Eutaw St., if I recall, those are actually stadium property and they're right there on the concourse, mostly for show. The gap you see in center field, if you look with the right view up high enough, you can see traffic on Camden Street, and then the next street is Pratt Street which is one of the main downtown streets. So there is nothing neighborhood/residential at all with that stadium, it looks nice, but that is all decoration. Yes there is public transportation that goes right there, but there is a big parking lot to the south between Camden Yards and M&T Bank stadium just like there is at the Cell, and to the west of it is expressway that becomes downtown streets. I stayed with my sister on Leadenhall about a ten minute walk from that stadium and sold gameday programs outside the park one summer. lots of old brownstones around the ballpark from what I remember, but I was only there for a summer vacation.
  5. QUOTE (Ranger @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) I can't believe I just read this whole thread. you gotta admit, it is pretty humorous, although not as satisfying as a fire greg walker poll, but still. Just out of curiosity, do other hitting coaches fly around the country working with players in the off season or was Walker just trying to rack up the bonus miles?
  6. i like the green bay shirt. would never wear it, but it made me laugh. hate those f***ers.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 06:41 PM) Gavin wasn't great, but the defense cost him at least two runs by not turning a DP. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 06:41 PM) Gavin was the usual self when he is on the road, average. Thanks. Sounds like Romero was on. He's very, very good.
  8. missed the game - did Gavin look bad or was it just Toronto staying hot at the plate?
  9. wow, some nice showboating from Valverde. stay classy, detroit.
  10. cool - get to watch getz make the last out
  11. they've got some decent starting pitching in KC, but the bullpen is miserable
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Royals trying their best to blow a 5 run lead late in the game. and they will probably succeed
  13. Dtrain looks like he's got a lot of his velocity back. not the same 96 but he's hitting 94 and still able to throw a nasty slider.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) You absolutely do not give Wells anything good to hit here. i was surprised by that FB down the middle
