  1. teeth are gnashing and hair is coming out in chunks in motown. Pretty funny. They got f***ed by the twins in 06, too. But even tho the twins are clearly on a roll, i don't see the kitties losing their hold on first place. I think they'll pull out tonight's game and the next two, wrapping it up so we don't have to watch those fuktards celebrating against the sox.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 06:16 PM) Hopefully they put hudson's spring training locker assignment right next to Peavy. If that slider can rub off on Huddy, man. some of that competitive spirit can't hurt either
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) The division shouldn't have any juggernauts unless the new park in Minneapolis makes the Pohlad family shell out some of their billions. There's a big article in SI about the Tigers and how they have gone about attracting fans, and how Illich isn't a profit and loss guy. If they fall short he may go into the red although the free agent class isn't exactly stellar and their farm system can't have much left that would interest other teams into giving up productive players. I think KC will be better. Cleveland is rebuilding. It will be interesting to see what KW's bullpen plan is. I think that's the key. yes, KC will be good. I don't even think it's a case of "could be" but will be. I think Jacobs will be better and a healthy gordon and another year for butler...plus some solid pitching...
  4. hard to argue that ozzie's outburst hasn't had the desired effect.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) Because that's been the rotation the past 10 games or so and nothing much has changed. Its a nice start though. Gavin's nagging hip injury concerns me
  6. what the hell is going to happen with Josh Fields? Is he coming back to play 1b next year?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) Danks one hit through five innings. He looks nasty tonight. indeed
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) Yup. good. i still resent shapiro winning exec of the year in 05.
  9. MIN and DET playing a double-header tomorrow. Edge to the twins and a younger lineup.
  10. are the indians going to be worth a s*** next season? Isn't their pitching still a gaping hole?
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) Here's the question I have about the draft and Beckham. Are you or anyone sure the Sox would have drafted Beckham had they had a higher pick and someone else was available? I think the Sox had the worst record in baseball at one point in August that year, but had a decent September. If the Sox had the 4th pick, or 1st maybe they pick someone else. I really don't know. Maybe they had Beckham #1 on their board all along. I think he will be #1 on that board 20 years from now. They were 15-12 in Sept. that year. Maybe they would have drafted Smoak. He'll probably be a pretty good player, but I think Beckham is and always will be better. Smoak is going to be a beast
  12. a healthy peavy and a young hudson in the rotation next spring? can i get a hell yeah?
  13. he's got a point; there really weren't any good college games on tonight. okay, seriously, Williams says some guys are quitters, ozzie goes off...so who is this aimed at? Who cares about college football, Alexi? Nope. Rios? Maybe. AJ...Paulie...JD...?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) BTW, after reading this article, it has changed my mind a little on the situation. I have a feeling that there's a particular veteran(s) that Ozzie is referring to and it wouldn't shock me at all if someone very popular with the fans is traded this offseason and many wonder why. I don't think anyone will disagree with the fact that there is something really wrong with the Sox clubhouse for a second straight year, and it's time something is done about it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,5331631.story a little more from the suntimes.... Ozzie should stop running his mouth to the media and go into the clubhouse and smash some flat screens. That will make his point.
  15. sometimes i get the feeling phil rogers didn't bother to watch Javy pitch in the playoffs last year, or in any important games for that matter.
