  1. gotta start throwing some first pitch strikes
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) Beckham is in quite a funk. but he did have a dinger the other night. c'mon danks, quick inning
  3. 2 strikes on Jim, 3 straight balls in the dirt. Gee...wonder what the book is on him! way to make em pay JT
  4. hope we can return the favor when the red sox come to town for 4
  5. I am curious to see who will DH next year. I wouldn't mind seeing...(gulp)...pods (runs for cover!)
  6. this season would've been over before July had Dye not hit .302 before the break. Keep it in mind while you're kicking a world series MVP out the door.
  7. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) can you say sweep..... it's too late to sweep - we lost the first 3.
  8. I don't believe that 4.5 games out in late August means you're eliminated. I don't believe that Jermaine Dye will stay in this funk for the rest of the year. I don't believe this team will play this bad for the rest of the season. I didn't believe the Sox would be in contention at this point in the season. I do believe they can still win the division. It helps me sleep.
  9. kenny's "big imagination" scares more than it excites
  10. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Posted on Cowely's twitter after the game. I assume so. taking a shot at pods? Ozzie? or both
  11. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) Outside of the 6 month long slumps, or suicide shrug's I will miss his leadership the most when he is gone. was that a post game quote?
  12. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 07:03 PM) ok am done being pissed, we get on a tear starting tommorow yeah, it's not worth getting pissed off about. But I would like to finish the season ahead of the twins!
  13. Truth is, even after a disastrous road trip the Sox could conceivably stagger to their feet in September and be within 4 games going into a 3 game series against Detroit at home. Which will only prolong the pain.
  14. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) I know. You don't really want to see them go 0-11 or 1-10 or whatever, but it might prove a point. I don't see the point in rooting for it.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) Nope. Hardest working coaching staff in the AL. We just get unlucky that our players stop hitting for months at a time. Its also unlucky that they pucker up after the ASB. Between the cold of April and May, and the pressure of August and September. I hope our guys have a killer June and July to get in their numbers for the year. I was hoping they could get Thome that elusive ring. I almost wish they could've moved him to Detroit or the Yankees or somewhere he would still get that chance. But he's not doing much for his own cause, sadly.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) It wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. Maybe someone would finally be held accountable. I shouldn't be so pissed at Kenny about Pena. He had to do something to shore up the pen.
  17. come on, ozzie conceded this game the moment he brought Pena in. THANKS KENNY!
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) If you didn't look at the player's face, you would think Brian Anderson was still on the Sox with 60 million dollars remaining on his contract. Absolutely terrible at bats by Rios. yes, but does he have colorful tattoos and a taste for party girls?
