  1. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:58 AM) I almost don't want to watch this game cause it could take a few years off my life. Especially if CR is 2-0, 3-1 on every f***ing hitter... I don't know why, but I think he's going to have a great start.
  2. I think Richards is going to be awesome tomorrow. He hit a wall there for a bit, but don't forget this guy was running it up there 95-96 at one point. Plus he was kick ass against the Rays last season, esp after javy wet the bed.
  3. anyone else feel like they're watching an all new episode of "Train Wrecks"?
  4. QUOTE (boonrob @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) It's easy to complain about this move, but I'd like to think there's a reason for it. Can anyone pretend you are KW for just a moment and offer a real explanation? Mine would include: Anderson has an option left and if Q's health falters, I didn't want Wise to be long gone. Although Wise isn't hitting for average, he does a good job of driving the ball and Anderson has never been able to hit a breaking pitch. With Q's health--he won't be able to play everyday, and I just don't see Anderson being worthy of sharing the starts. thanks - it's a good way of looking at it
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) Wise over BA is the stupidiest decision in the KW era and total BS! It is like KW is telling fans FU! I'm not a big supporter of BA's. But this move is mind-boggling. I don't hate Dewayne Wise - i'm sure he's a nice guy. But he's a terrible baseball player. And I love having BA in CF esp. late in games. I wish they would trade BA to a team that's willing to let him play.
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) I want to see what a radar gun says for the good life before I get excited. Freddy lobbing 84 mph fastballs is not going to work out well. He needs to be 89 to 91 to be effective. At least he has excellent secondary stuff, unlike Colon who pumps in fastball after fastball and hopes movement gets him by. He really is effective if he can get to those speeds. Not dominant like he was, but very effective.
  7. teams are going to have bad days, it happens
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 11:27 AM) Trainwrecks galore. Watson and Castro. how he lost that is unbelievable
  9. it's not like Ozzie said he'll never have confidence in him. Poreda's a work in progress, esp. out of the pen. Give it some time, maybe he'll earn his trust.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Jon Link, Jhonny Nunez, Fernando Hernandez, Carlos Torres, Derek Rodriguez, Adam Russell... If you're not going to use him, send him to AAA and let him continue working as a SP. so send down a better pitcher for a worse pitcher so the better pitcher can continue to develop.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) yeah, I'm on the side that says either use him in a prominent role in the majors or send him back down to get regular work And fill his spot with...
  12. i'm excited about closing the gap, but one look at this month's schedule and it's harsh reality. We'll know if this team's really got a chance in the next few weeks.
