  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 06:17 AM) They have the pieces to get Hamels. That makes a ton of sense for them. They'll have to give up a lot for Hamels. More than the junk they have floating around in the outfield.
  2. Interesting strategy by the carmines to stockpile OFers. Supposedly Napoli is available, too (one year left on contract). Obviously they need pitching. Wonder if this takes them out of the Lester sweepstakes. Or Scherzer.
  3. does JR still have a thing about too much facial hair? I like the signing but the central is in a place where it seems the tigers are on the decline while the Royals and Indians are on the rise with young talent. Where are the Sox in that development?
  4. this is when i miss the vomit emoticon
  5. I bet he's already getting fitted for a Cardinals jersey. But yeah, he'd be great to have. He'd make the Sox a force.
  6. No amount of bats are going to be worth the price of watching a sham of a bullpen choke up leads late. That's the biggest fix on the table. That and a LF'er.
  7. QUOTE (gosox41 @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 08:44 PM) Seriously, Maddon did extremely well with a small payroll team in the toughest division in baseball. Which is probably why he'll gun for a team with a higher payroll.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 07:06 PM) Why? It's annoying when the NL wins the World Series. Let's see, let me think...oh yeah, I hate the f***ing royals? I think that's it.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Royals need to put at least a run on the board tonight to get that out of the way. KC was more than due for a clunker. Royals have to have a different script this series. If the NL truly is inferior, then hope in the long run KC overcomes and wins it in seven. As far as Shields, what GM/owner in his right mind would sign that guy to a four-year, 80 million dollar deal. It's just crazy talk. f*** the royals. I hope they get swept.
  10. They came back against Oakland, but were they ever down against LAA? They seem to grab a lead and refuse to give it up. Winning so many close games. Not sure how the Giants match up pitching wise, but the home field advantage for KC will be big. Two WC teams in the WS.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 06:30 AM) Pauly didnt say that the were the wire to wire leaders though, just that they reminded him of the 05 team. With their SP and BP, and their ability to grind out close games, it isnt hard to see He also said the '05 team won a crazy amount of 1 run games. KC is the same way. Probably what PK and Dye are seeing as well.
  12. O's just need to find a way to break the mojo that KC has going. Seed some doubt. These are still young guys with zero playoff experience and their riding a high of invincibility. And they're still the Royals.
  13. Because Albert was a f***ing beast. Didn't he hit like 75 HR's over a 162 game stretch? Something crazy like that.
  14. I also see what Baltimore wants for Wieters.
  15. Pablo Sandoval is only 28 and I think he's unrestricted. Switch hitter, plays 3b. Two birds with one stone.
  16. And somehow the man at the very top escapes unscathed in this article....
  17. That roundtable discussion was pretty jaw-dropping in its ignorance. "They need 2 outfielders." Really? Avisail Garcia anyone? "They've been to the playoffs once in the last 9 years." 2005 and 2008? Isn't that twice? Anyway, I do have to agree that Ventura needs to get better at getting more out of his players. But I disagree with the idea that he's "disinterested."
  18. Did I really just hear "great baserunning by De Aza"?
  19. was rooting for OAK but KC absolutely gutted it out. Great game!
  20. I think Carlos Rodon is going to have more to say about the path of his career than the White Sox. If he demonstrates that he's an elite pitcher who's talents are being wasted in the pen or in the minors, he'll force the Sox to put him in the rotation. Let's see what he does.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 08:01 AM) Konerko's salute to the fans. http://m.mlb.com/video/v36552901/a-persona...om-paul-konerko Not the best player to ever wear a Sox uniform but one of the best people, for sure.
  22. Must feel so good to be chris sale and see the likes of this s*** coming out to hold your tie.
  23. QUOTE (1dog @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) I would have given Victor something to LOOK AT there, right behind his head. If we sign that fool, I will be pissed. Everyone always says what a great guy he is. But even back in his days with CLE he always seemed like a douche to me.
