  1. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Sep 19, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Oh s***! Look! Another thread where Ventura is thrashed for every little thing that goes wrong! Hurry, call the whaaambulance before the toddlers fudge their Huggies, again. I'm not saying Robin is a good or bad manager and I don't believe that can be determined until he is given a decent team to actually manage. What the f*** did Sox fans expect from the manager of a rebuilding baseball club? I admit, Robin makes some bad calls but good grief all managers do sometimes. The Sox have far more pressing issues than Robin.
  2. That's great news. Give the man some talent and let's see what he can do.
  3. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) Until I heard the arrogant, buffoonish KC broadcast team last night I was actually sorta rooting for KC to make the playoffs over Seattle (the city I live in). f*** THAT NOISE. I hope the Sox win 20 to nothing and KC uses every single pitcher in their pen so they are screwed for the next series. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Just constant s*** talking about the Sox. They implied Conor was scared in his bases loaded AB. They constantly talked about how awful the Sox bullpen was and every thing that happened was confirmation of why the Sox are 13 under and blah blah blah. I mean, you're the f***ing Royals. Surely you know bad baseball when you see it and don't need to constantly drone on about it. Seeing Conor hit that triple after they basically questioned his manhood was one of the top moments this season for me as a viewer. It was great. I hope the Sox help knock them out of the playoffs the arrogance of their announcing crew for a team that historically has sucked donkey dick was just very off putting. You can pump up your own team without constant bashing of the other team. That's something Hawk even does. Thank you! I was listening to the same on their radio broadcast and that's exactly what I was thinking....who the f*** do these guys think they are? After awhile I figured it must've been all those years eating s*** on the cellar floor and now their feeling mighty, but to take as many shots as they were taking, I couldn't believe it. The one f*** nut was asking about the night before and wondering why Gillaspie wasn't on the line for Aoki's double (a LH batter, btw). And he asked it so incredulously, then offered, "Well...I guess that's a question you would have to ask the White Sox."
  4. Andy Wilkins belongs on a MLB roster, said no one ever
  5. I can't root for either the royals or the tigers but I do look forward to the Sox playing spoiler against both.
  6. An interesting article on the new strike zone implemented with cameras and Pitch f/x technology. Do ratings and offensive production go hand-in-hand? An interesting predicament facing the new commish...take a look The Simple Technology That Accidentally Ruined Baseball
  7. It's great to see him doing well in OAK. Another dinger this afternoon. Hope he gets his ring.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 06:15 AM) I was really impressed with Noesi. It was one of the first times I got to watch him for an extended look, and it seems like everything he throws has movement. Other things I noticed: -Jordan Danks really does read balls well off the bat in the outfield. I have no problem with him as a 4th outfielder -I really like Sanchez a lot. Good swing plane, approach, and a nice short swing. He's also got tree trunks for legs. Just looking at those things, I think he can be a 10-15 homer guy eventually -Viciedo is still country strong, and I think that alone is going to get him another chance next year. He's such an enigma at the plate. -I really liked Taylor's swing at the plate but his approach was pretty poor. Every hack was trying to hit the ball as hard as he could. Still, he reminds me a bit of someone like Craig Monroe. -Semien looked more confident, but his timing gets off when he switches levels. I think he just needs extended playing time at the MLB level and a lot of his issues will sort themselves out. I was also impressed with his range, hands, and ability to quickly get the ball out. That throw to try and beat Schaefer was obviously not good. I trust September numbers about as much as I trust March numbers. He's great against mediocre pitchers.
  9. QUOTE (aboz56 @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 11:25 AM) I suggest a video montage of all his strikeouts before the game, but that might delay first pitch a good half hour or so.
  10. seriously, how f***ing good is Jose Abreu?
  11. Good read. The power of social media...and the nazi tactics of rogue "invesitgative" units.
  12. You have to give Viciedo credit for patience. He got the slider off the plate he was looking for.
  13. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) 0 for 7 with 9 runners left on base and 2 strike outs since joining LA. it takes time to shed baggage.
  14. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) In part your right, but I think he could have worded it a Lil different. Next one gone Viciedo After his disastrous and lazy play in LF yesterday (behind our best pitcher, no less), I don't see how Hahn can justify throwing him back out there next season. f*** potential. Guy's a loser.
  15. Holmberg getting hammered. Remember when I thought that was a bad deal.
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) Held on too long and ended up giving him away. Would have liked to seen a trade for someone else's failed top prospect. The utter, and inexplicable, lack of a sense of urgency to deal in July under the vain notion that this team was still in it, will retard this rebuild. this I agree with 100%
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 03:55 PM) I have made no bones about not being a supporter of a trade of Gordon Beckham. But, I realistically thought that over the winter we might see him dealt. But, this return for a #1 draft pick with a gold glove future ... a PTBNL or cash .... That is simply ridiculous Considering that he cleared waivers and the team with the best record in mlb got him means no one else wanted him.
  18. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Lindstrom wasn't ready to come back. But far be it from me to question the top-shelf talent evaluators in the Sox system.
  19. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) Thanks guys. You are definitely right. It does keep the addiction going. I would have played again today if I didn't have to catch a flight to LA. But I'm taking my clubs with me so I can play out there this week. my favorite course in the area...Rustic Canyon A great course with a links style layout, lots of options on your approach shots.
  20. I'd rather watch Rienzo than Bellisario. f*** you, Hahn, do something.
