  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) oh my am i beyond pissed off. +1
  2. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) I'm pulling for success of players who matter to our future. And a loss, every day. Yes, we need another Courtney Hawkins or Jared Mitchell. Yipee.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) I see Ryan Moore all the time at my course...maybe I'll tell him if he ever needs a pro jock... You probably see a lot of pros in Vegas. Tiger still has a place there. I caddied on the Nike tour for one tournament. I was constantly scared of screwing somethign up. But at least the pro made the cut and I got a little money for my trouble. Cool way to kill a week during summer break.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 11:02 AM) I think it's as high as 10% sometimes...not sure though. Caddies are paid on the basis of how well their player performs: a base salary of $1,000 a week plus 5% of the tournament purse, 7% of a top 10 and 10% for a victory, according to Cone
  5. No amount of coaching can make up for a lack of talent. Bottom line, Sox lack talent. A few years ago this board was on fire for how pathetic the farm system was. And they were right, as evidenced by a lack of homegrown talent on the field right now. The chickens have come home to roost. When you're picking up pieces like Sierra off the scrap heap can you really hope to be competitive? I applaud the turnarounds they've produced with guys like Gillaspie and Noesi, but they are exceptions to the rule. We're in the dark days of rebuilding a farm system and hopefully developing that talent. Tough to endure but it has to be done. If anything, RV should be commended for taking it on the chin for the organization.
  6. If the Sox were competitive I'd probably be annoyed at seeing Konerko get playing time over someone more productive. But since Rick Hahn is sitting around with his thumb up his ass and Paul's one of my all-time favorite players and the captain of the only Sox WS team in my lifetime, I'm happy to watch him get some props. He's not taking up valuable space.
  7. I thought you'd already made the point that it was all Robin's fault. I'm confused.
  8. Thanks for looking that up. Has Bellisario been DFA'd? I really expected it after tonight. Figured Hahn would get pissed and pull the trigger. f*** it.
  9. Last night 3 of 4 relievers gave up a run, tonight 2 of 3
  10. Really looked like this was going to be a fun game. Bullpen has taken all the air out of the stadium.
  11. Tough to blame Hahn too much with two of the best BP arms going down
  12. No telling how good this team could be with some decent arms in the pen.
  13. “I don’t have the prescience to tell you where this season is going to take us,” Sale said. “But as long as we come in every day and we work hard and play like we played tonight and string some stuff together, I don’t see why we couldn’t be there with anybody else.”
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) Never take out Abreu Can you imagine if he did and this went extras? oy
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 08:25 PM) What happened? Abreu had to tag up because he didn't read it well off the bat? Oh, well, he scored....complaining about Abreu's baserunning is like complaining about Mike Trout's strikeouts. this
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 08:08 PM) How? It was lefty vs lefty? I just thought I'd get the ball rolling
