  1. that's two broken bats impaled in the field in the same game. weird.
  2. 2 on, no outs, anderson whiffs and uribe grounds into an easy DP.
  3. Ramirez is too raw, but will be great. Awaiting word on Garland's chronic right shoulder...
  4. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) Cowley being Cowley again. Trying to stir something up when nothing is there. Must be a slow news day. me thinks there's something there...this is pierzynski we're talking about.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) That's a very misleading stat. MacDougal has 5 of those in 2 innings. Take him out and its 10 runs in 16.1 innings, which is 5.51 ERA. Take out Logan's 5 runs in 3.2 IP, and now its 5 runs in 12.2 IP, for an ERA of 3.55. So let's put it in perspective here. Jenks, Thornton, Masset, Haeger, Wassermann, Dotel, Linebrink and Broadway combine for 8 ER in in 24.2 IP, which is an ERA of 2.92, which is quite good. Also, who are the 8, according to whomever wrote the quote you included? Because I see 10 candidates covering about 30 innings. The total of all 10 above is 18 ER in 30.1 IP, which is 5.34. Thats not great, but for Arizona, its not horrific either. Seems like the author was trying to find the worst possible numbers. quoting this... pen treading water
  6. From the sun-times... The "dig-me strut..."
  7. Ramirez with the 2-out RBI, sox lead 3-2.
  8. Dotel gives up his first run this spring, it's now 2-2
  9. indeed it was the sox! But honestly, i can't blame them. The sox are buried in a good division and there's nothing to suggest they have "break out" potential. But I am holding out hope for a very good season. Mark goes 4 strong. Nice.
  10. anyone else watching the twins yankees game on ESPN? They've discussed virtually every team in the league - even the royals at some length, except for one.
  11. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) Next to melodious sounds of Stonehenge to take me through the summer the next best Sox news Count dealing and Thor appearing healthy. A nice showing by Obama and this could be a very good day. here here. Kong now hitting .714 this spring.
  12. Broadway in to face Brandon wood, first pitch...GONE
  13. Thor, god of thunder, k's back to back batters to keep the runner at 3rd. Nice.
  14. kendrick on 3rd, one out, infield in, morales at the plate
  15. let's join the game in progress... thanks to a crede error the game is tied, otherwise the count "sounds" good today. Kong continues to hit. Kendrick leads off against Thornton in the 4th and slaps a hit, steals on the next pitch - against the lefty Thornton.
  16. I've missed the lead off walk in the 9th. Ah...white sox baseball...
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Are you saying we've had two years already? I'm saying one more year like last year and he's toast. The pen was a problem in '06 and he claimed to have fixed it with all the young power arms We all know how that turned out. If this year is another swing and a miss...
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) I guess I'm the only person that thinks Linebrink will stink in the AL and pitching at the Cell. I'll hope for the best, but I don't think the majority of people are optimistic about his future with the Sox. I think two years of a disastrous bullpen would spell doom for kenny. And he went to great lengths to sign linebrink. If he's wrong again...yikes.
  19. wow - did wasserman really just strike out a lefty?
  20. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Alexei may be the Cuban defecting version of Jose Valentin. a train robber mustache away. does he pluck his eyebrows like manos, too?
