Rogers thinks the sox should be in re-building mode like the A's. He may be right, but with that mindset you'll never be objective about trading top prospects.

any more news coming out on this deal? Brian Roberts would solve many problems indeed. why couldn't the sox include Richar in the trade? Can you imagine how solid that double play combo would be at SS and 2B?

this is a weak FA class and the hottest trade prospect in years slipped through our grasp. it's not the worst thing to have happen. detroit gave up a lot for those two guys.

off topic: I just read that the cubs and orioles are talking about a brian roberts trade. I didn't realize he was available. Would love to see Kenny try and steal that guy. Wonder what it would take...
