  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 12:01 PM) Yea, I know. I thought about flushing this one, but it's not how we do things here. believe me, that's a good thing
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 04:57 AM) At the end of the day, I love Ozzie. at least he gives a s***, I'll give him that.
  3. 15 out of 18...and counting. I can't believe ken williams still has a job.
  4. i'm shocked that the white sox bullpen is on the verge of recording another loss.
  5. I so hope we say so long to juan uribe, his cannon arm and his .216 avg. And Ozzie has the balls to tell us "this guy can carry a team"!! Cuando??
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Anyone else notice Tampa had a huge comeback win today? Seeing someone mention names like Mauer and Verlander, as high picks, got me excited about having such a high pick again. I still don't get your enthusiasm for a high pick. Take a peek at our minor league system and tell me that those making the pick are not clueless.
  7. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) Boy, do we have some "young talent" or what? This has been an absolutely brutal game. Just watching Fields in LF has been a headache (I really don't get why everyone thinks it's such a good idea. Stupid if you ask me). Richar and Owens contributed two of the worst swings (or just the at-bats entirely) I've ever seen watching baseball (yes, worse than any swing I can recall Uribe taking, at least in a long time) IN THE SAME INNING. Yeesh. this is a good season for those guys to be up in those situations and - hopefully - learn from their mistakes.
  8. does Fields have a legitimate shot at winning rookie of the year?
  9. worst team in baseball, and nobody's getting fired
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Hopefully he's had his final AB in a White Sox uniform. I think he has.
  11. I hate that many of the pre-season prognosticators had us winning 72 games.
  12. I have a weird feeling that the benches are going to clear today
  13. I still can't believe this team is battling to stay out of last place. What a crock of s***. Have you seen this baseball tennis commercial? baseball tennis
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 02:16 PM) Unfortunately...Ryan Sweeney has simply shown that right now, he is not ready to be an everyday big league player with his performance this season. Between the recurrence of his wrist problems and the fact that he's actually performing significantly worse this year than last (802 OPS down to 735 this season) he just can't be looked at as ready. If either he or Anderson go play winterball and have some success, go to ST and have success, and then have at least a month or two of success in AAA next year, and I'm talking real good success, high OPS, batting around .300, then maybe you consider giving them a shot if you still have an opening or you can create one (i.e. moving Fields from LF to 3rd if that's where he starts the season). But right now, we do not have another ML ready outfielder in our organization, and it's going to take significant improvement from one of those 2 guys for that to change. I hear what you're saying, but Owens didn't look ready to make the jump either. I'm not saying he's going gang busters in the bigs, but he's definitely figuring it out. I guess I'd just like Ryan to get that same shot, despite his performance in AAA. But you're right, if he can bounce back and have a good spring, then he'll improve his chances.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) It'll be the same reason Uribe stays next season. please be wrong.
  16. I'd like to give Ryan Sweeney the same shot as Jerry Owens has gotten. Too bad.
  17. for the record, owens was safe at first in the 9th last night. why i'm still fuming i have no idea - it makes no sense.
  18. i hate the west coast starting times, too. I prefer watching the games at 4 or 5 in the afternoon.
  19. can anyone link me to the August wallpaper? I'm running a bit behind... thanks
  20. Low and away has been a strike all night for Laffey, to bad Mark didn't go there too.
