  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) I'd say they're pretty equal defensively, they have very similar defensive deficiencies. I have a hard time picturing cintron diving for the ball and throwing a guy out at first all in one move. But I could be wrong. But probably not.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) Javier Vazquez could fetch a very nice package of young talent if made available, being one of the better pitchers in baseball this season and all. (3.73 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) but he's probably more valuable just staying put in the rotation with Garland and his pending huge $$$ contract leaving via trade. I wonder what's going on with Garland's shoulder - this has been an issue since ST. I worry that his arm is breaking down a bit. He's gutted out some nice starts, some not so nice. With this season a wash, I wouldn't mind shutting him down for a long spell, bring up someone else. See if that doesn't put an end to the pain.
  3. I would cheer another players strike right about now. Blow this season up.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) JUST NO PODS or Uribe....
  5. I like watching train wrecks. It's the same reason I watch police videos, there's going to be a good crash. The Sox are the worst team in baseball this season and I find that just stunning coming off a WS two short years ago. So I watch, disbelieving that it can get worse. And it does.
  6. two players hitting above .250 what a f***ing joke this team is
  7. Jerry Remy still whining, says it's really 3-3

  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 01:47 PM) I was at yesterdays game and Colletti is a straight shooter so it makes me think if the right deal comes to the Dodgers and if they think he's healthy we'll see him in Dodger blue. I'm just hoping its for Kemp or Ethier After watching Lowe struggle last night I can't help but think Colletti's going to go out and make a substantial offer for a good starter. He's going to have to pay dearly for one and I think we could get Kemp for Garland. He also mentioned that he expects things to heat up by mid-week next week.
  10. wow, the carmines must really be slumping. Bukvich almost looks good.
  11. ha! Bukvich takes aim at every batter he faces! Lucky for him manny hit that ball just left of the bullpen. This guy needs to be DFA'd.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) One thing I'm really not looking forward to is the return of Pods and Erstad, because it'll resign Owens either to the bench or to AAA. If this season's a loss, then we might as well see if this kid can keep the hot streak he's on right now going against ML pitching, because if he can, it solves an awful lot of our problems for next season. yep, I agree. Why sit him in favor of a guy you know they're not going to re-sign? And if they are, then what the f*** are they thinking?
  13. Soxtalk...recovery group for former members of WSI. Keep coming back.
  14. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Vazquez has a limited no-trade clause and doesn't want to go west. Garland and Contreras are better bets for the Dodgers. BTW, I'm going to the game Friday...first time at Dodger Stadium...can't wait to get a Dodger Dog. I'll see you there - have a great time, the park is pretty sweet. And make sure you get the "grilled" Dodger Dog. Steamed blows.
  15. On to Boston to get Contreras back on track. Carmines have been stumbling a bit since the break - would be good to split that series.
  16. Since June 1, Konerko is batting .320 (49-of-149) with 13 doubles, 13 homers, 28 walks and 31 RBIs
  17. too bad we couldn't have picked up one run there to keep a slam from tying it. It's even worse that CLE has to feel good about coming back and winning this
  18. Dodgers hosted a lunch yesterday with the GM and manager for members of the diamond club. The question and answer session afterward was terrific - the first question was about Jermaine Dye of course. Colletti was very candid about Dye and the speculation, saying he has received calls but says the Sox wouldn't be so eager to trade him if he was 100% healthy and playing to his abilities. He also said he likes Matt Kemp too much to part with him and sees him in the lineup for years to come. The only untouchable is Russell Martin (duh). But he did become evasive when I asked about Vasquez - he seemed intrigued and the dodgers definitely need a deeper rotation going into the stretch run. Anyway, just a cool experience I thought I'd share.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Where does Buehrle rank in terms of ERA for AL starters now? Also, I wasn't around yesterday, but I noticed that Cleveland fans cheered when one of their relievers almost hit Thome. What a bunch of assholes. their fans are scumbags. Props to the offense for not lying down after that tough loss last night.
  20. I can accept the loss to Bedard, even though there were a few genuine chances to score some runs. But we need this one to regain any momentum.
  21. Left-hander Andrew Sisco allowed eight runs on nine hits in one-third of an inning in Triple-A Charlotte's 11-3 loss at Columbus. who knew these pitchers would suck so bad
  22. Widge sighting in the stands tonight, right behind the sox dugout. Guess he made an appearance in the clubhouse, too. wonder if he said hi to donny cooper...
  23. paul konerko. laugh your asses off, but aside from his glaring lack of speed, he has the best eye-hand coordination on the team. Great hockey player, single-digit handicap in golf. But athlete usually translates into speed, so I'm sure he'll get dissed.
