More detailed article on the KW/Ozzie/PK meeting
The Ginger Kid replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Inexcusable. An insult to fans that demand a winning product. Let's close our eyes and hope the peter pan and tinkerbell can revive our offense and magically fix the bullpen. Why the hell is KW even asking Konerko for advice anyway? What the f*** is he supposed to say. As I wrote on my blog Assuming KW meant everything he said in that article, and from the bit I saw on CSN, I'm now rooting for this team to lose until the deadline. Go ahead call me a bad fan. I want a competitive team back on the field as soon as possible, and that isn't going to happen by waiting for the outfield fairies to get back. you're a bad fan. and work on your analogies. -
White Sox vs. Marlins, 6/18/07 (W)

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 05:43 PM) 100% agree with Fathom and Flash here. There has been enough baseball played this season to make it clear this team WILL NOT go on any sort of run this season, but is in a position to be able to acquire a lot of young talent with aging veterans. I said it about a week ago, but JD and Mark could hold the keys to the future of the Sox for the next 5, 6 years. Bummer - Sox win. -

THIS DATE IN WHITE SOX HISTORY: JUNE 15
The Ginger Kid replied to StatManDu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(StatManDu @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) 2000: The first-place White Sox obliterated the New York Yankees 12-3 at Yankee Stadium. The White Sox broke the game open with three in the fifth and then closed out the Bronx Bombers by scoring two in each of the seventh, eighth and ninth innings. Paul Konerko and Magglio Ordonez each homered while Konerko and Brook Fordyce ach drove in three runs. The victory was the Sox 1th in their last 12 outings and their eighth in a row on the road. The victory also enabled the White Sox to open up a 5.5 game lead in the American League Central. I enjoyed this stretch of baseball as much as any I've ever seen. -
I still get stuck on the idea that if Dye, Kong and Thome get hot at the same time they could carry this team, especially in an easy stretch of games. That could take some pressure off other guys in the line up and voila, a team with a hot hitting lineup. The pitching feeds off that and you suddenly become the hottest team in MLB with plenty of games left in your division to make up ground.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) i know i made one of these in the past, but what are the names of some nice pittsburgh restaurants? i already know things to do, like ride the ferry along the alleghany, duquesne incline, and of course go see a game, which is what im going to do, but all i need are some nice restaurant names... listen to me, for I do not lie. You MUST check this place out. The greatest sandwiches and an awesome joint just across the river from the ballpark. World famous, you won't be sorry. Primanti Brothers I thought the food around the ballpark lame, although abundant.

I broke up with a girl in college who simply refused to accept it. She denied it to anyone who asked and went so far as to show up at my fraternity formal all dolled up and wearing a gown. Just showed up out of nowhere. I had a date who saw her come in. She freaked and split, tossing a beer in my face. My buddies got a kick out of that one. Me, not so much.

At this point it's like throwing rocks at the short yellow bus. I've resigned myself to a long summer and watching what should be a competitive divisional race between the tribe and tigers.

to Philly fans for giving a class act a standing-O what they did to him in s***hole, ohio still irks me.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) actually, i think all the moves he made that you are criticizing were the correct moves, especially taking Danks out. every time you post I want a beer. And milk. Weird. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Luis Terrero should not count as a prospect. i'm padding. it looks even worse without him.
-
White Sox prospects called up this season (including BA) have combined for: .188 avg 7 HR 16 RBI in 207 AB's
-
i've never seen so much damage done on 0-2 counts until this season
-
I can't figure out if this is as good as it gets or if they're eventually going to hit bottom and then start playing better (how much better, I don't know...but better).
