QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 12:44 AM) Facing CC is the perfect remedy for our hitting woes. won't have to. the forecast: Rain and snow this morning becoming showery for the afternoon hours. High 39F. Winds N at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precip 60%. A slushy accumulation of less than one inch. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) So when does this start happening? Darin Erstad didn't earn jack s*** and I'd like for you to prove otherwise using tangible evidence to support your case. here's tangible evidence - he's starting, brian isn't. get over it. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) We only saw that lineup in what, 30% of the games? Hell, Mackowiak was in CF for half the season. Sure looked like BA in CF for the first 80-90 games that I saw. But my reception is bad.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 07:50 PM) Ok so Ozzie is saying that Anderson's lack of production last season killed any chance of him starting for the team in 2007 correct? incorrect. It just means he left the job wide open. Had BA played well last season he would've locked up the position this season. I don't feel sorry for him either. Hell, they handed it to him once already. And in my opinion he didn't win it back in spring like he was told he needed to do. And that was made harder going up against a guy who's proven himself at this level and won multiple gold gloves, not to mention his ability to handle the bat better than Brian. -

Brian Anderson. The cure for all that ails this team a whopping 10 games into the season. Let's wait until it at least stops snowing before changing the starting lineup out of spring training. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) I hope Ozzie sees after this game, there needs to be a change. Have it go... 1. Podsednik, LF 2. Iguchi, 2B 3. Thome, DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Dye, RF 6. Pierzynski, C 7. Crede, 3B 8. Uribe, SS 9. Anderson, CF Just give it a try for a couple of days... thats all I ask! Yeah, that worked great last year. 3rd place. woo.

while it's a crappy place to live, Bakersfield gets Giants games and Dodger games, and A's games and Angels games. It's weird, but cool. -
I'd like to know where the Sox flew to tonight - Cleveland or Milwaukee. Or Chicago.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 09:10 AM) Other than Sabathia and Santana, the Twins and Indians have pretty mediocre starting pitching. Still trying to figure out why so many "experts" have them ahead of the Sox. Maybe it's because the experts got burned last year picking the Sox to repeat. Here's hoping Mark has a good outing to wipe last night from my memory... -
It's Oakland. What did you expect?

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) Erstad rounding into form with that 4-3. It seems like that extra run will hurt. I can't believe Erstad grounded out after DJ was saying just how amazing he really is. he had a couple of good pitches to hit -

Pony Boy leaves a run on third with one out. Shocking. -

Oakland is a crazy place to see a game - feels like Japan with all those noise makers. It's even weirder for a Raider game. I feared for my life. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) How do you even know he's the future? Do you know if he's any good? He had a disappointing season at the plate last year and he's not getting any playing time right now, how do you know what you have in him? How does keeping him on the bench help his development or help with any future personnel decisions in the outfield? Is Luis Terrero not capable of sitting on is ass 6 games a week? Well, as I'm currently not employed by the Sox, I can't say for certain he's the future. Sure, he struggled at the plate, but his defense is way above average and he's shown improvement this spring at the plate and with his approach. Keeping him on the bench may or may not not be the best for his development at this point -- it's arguable. But it's best for the team. That's more relevant to me. And I think it would be a huge mistake to give up on him now. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:52 AM) Using Anderson in CF and moving Erstad to either corner in the 8th/9th inning improves the defense 2 fold. another good reason to have him on the bench
-
Brian's the future CF, I can see no reason to trade him. And I see no reason to have him in Charlotte.

more importantly, what kind of pitcher will Garland be tonight...
