  1. Even though we need the win and I'm not one for moral victories, I'd be satisfied with a good effort and a strong showing from the offense and the pitching staff...a game that shows me they aren't dead yet. Give me something to cheer about...anything.
  2. Tip your hat to Rogers, come back tomorrow
  3. Don't let it shake you, Mark. Keep serving up that fat off speed pitch.
  4. we got the lead off man out!! f*** yeah!
  5. BA!! Beautiful baby! Rookie of the year!!
  6. turn it around now. PLLLLLEEEEASSEE
  7. It doesn't really matter how bad Mark is. It's not like people like Konerko are stepping up.
  8. Anyone else wondering if this run of bad play might just continue til the end of the season?
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) Mark is settling in nice for the tigers, yes
  10. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Oh come now, Alomar isn't THAT old. I miss Timo. Yeah. It's that bad.
  11. If love isn't the answer, maybe anger is.
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 01:23 PM) Absolutely agree. I could make a list of at least 10 factors that may be contributing to the small (that's right, I said small, given we are still in a playoff position) gap between this team's performance and expectations. KW is not one of them. good point. this team might very well scrape out a playoff spot and then go on a tear. Again. And all this crap will be forgotten. Man...would that be sweet!
  13. Mark has been getting closer with each outing. Maybe today is the day the cutter cuts, the change changes and the slider slides. We could use the pickmeup.
  14. A few hours later, and I'm over this loss. I do love baseball. And I agree with what JD had to say about the loss: "He was lights out," Dye said. "No matter who was facing him, that team wouldn't have had a chance. Besides the homer he gave up, he kept everyone off base and came up with ground balls and flies to get out of innings. "We have enough veteran leadership to know to tip your hat to that guy, but tomorrow is another day, and we'll come out ready to play. Just by the way we've played this team this year is confidence in itself." come back and get them tomorrow
  15. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) I don't know why Brian Anderson gets let off the hook by so many fans. He's cute. Admit it. By the way, I had a kick ass time in Lawrence, Kansas this summer. Great town.
  16. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) Dye should be batting third, with Thome fourth and Konerko fifth. Yyyyeeesss indeed. Didn't Dye hit 3rd in the playoffs?
  17. KW gambled for a #5 starter with some pretty good talent. You win some, you lose some. Sometimes it rains.
  18. When they took 2 of 3 from the yankees and then promptly swept the Tigers I was convinced this team had turned the corner. I just didn't realize it was into a dead end. Pretty angry right now. I generally enjoy watching my team play baseball. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) Quick stat I heard: When Podsednik swings and puts the first pitch of the AB into play, his batting average is about .140. That's ungodly low. no correlation, but: when he gets one hit Sox win over 75% of the time. When he doesn't they lose 60% of the time. Konerko is playing like dogs*** right now. Just saying.
  19. I wish someone on this team would get pissed off and tip over a few tables.
