  1. If I were Ozzie I'd tell my wife's cousin's nephew's sister's husband, Freddy Spicoli, to lay off the hippie lettuce. Second, I would have the bullpen warming up at the start of the 5th inning every time Buehrle, Freddy and Javy pitch.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) That makes me sick to my stomach. Me too. Here's another diddy: Sox record when Pods has 1 or more hits: 47-15 Sox record when Pods has 0 hits: 13-23 We need him to get HOT
  3. QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Jays lost their season high 5th in a row today. Not a good sign for this weekend. Look for a Blue Jay sweep and a death blow to any remaining chance of a Central title for the Sox. Beware the dark side, young jedi.
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) How the gosh darn does Russell Branyon still have a job in the league. The guy SUCKS. I don't care about his wild SLG%. In his career, as a.230 hitter, 53% of his outs were via the nasty 11th letter in the alphabet. It's not Branyon, it's the kitties. They got it going on. And "C-Mo" as a nickname for Monroe can officially be added to the Book of Lame, alongside "K-Fed"
  5. That was a good read. I'd tell him to take a xanax and enjoy the rest of the season cause detroit's not going to fade and if anything, they'll probably increase their lead in the next few weeks. And I was convinced all season that they would fade. No more. My hat is off to them. They just play solid, fundamental baseball. Best story of the year by far. I don't know how far they'll go in the playoffs, but they won't go quietly.
  6. I feel like I've been waiting all season for this team to "click" and I"m sure that I'm not alone. When one aspect shines, some other falters. We've seen signs, flashes of brilliance, and obviously this team is better than most in the league. But it's never felt like all the pieces are in sync and now that questions of "intensity" are being raised and key people are getting dinged up, I'm beginning to wonder if time isn't running out on the Sox getting a full head of steam and doing some damage. It's not like one game is going to turn it around, it's a stretch of games where they play solid D, have quality at bats and pitch well start to finish. Do that for a few weeks and the swagger's back. After games like this that "mojo" seems even more elusive.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) Wow! Just wow. We might have just seen the beginning of the end of Uribe's Sox career. brutal. I can't understand this team, not one bit.
  8. lead off walk to Polanco in the 8th. $1 says he scores.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Ugh...something I've noticed about Cintron is that he doesn't try to elevate the ball in those situations. That's why I was concerned about the DP. he uppercuts on every swing
  10. whoa...isn't that Sergio Garcia, the golfer, walking with her on the beach?
  11. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:37 AM) The best part about watching Konerko's Grand Slam in Game 2 of the World Series, is seeing Damaso Marte jumping up and down hysterically in the bullpen. good times. I'll have to look for that, never noticed it.
  12. yes, too "cubbie" but I did love watching Dunston play. What an arm.
  13. I think this goes back to spring training when guillen was making note of Juan being "fat" and out of shape. Juan's been off all year...
  14. Hudson has 4 quality starts in a row. This one will not be a cake walk (are they ever anymore?). Add to this that we'll see Halladay on Friday, let's hope we're not about to hit another "bump" in the road...
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) *prepares a crow sandwich* I would happily eat it to be proven wrong. But...
  16. I guess that's why they call it a pitcher's best friend
