  1. flag burning? why does anyone care? the moment someone sets a match to a flag they lose all credibility and become the subject of scorn. Do we really need to waste tax dollars and time by sending them through the criminal justice system? the supreme court will overrule it anyway. Freedom of expression should not be criminalized. What's next? I can't call bush and cheney cocksuckers?
  2. grew up with Jimmy Chamberlin, drummer for Smashing Pumpkins. Does that count? Also shook paul mccartney's hand when he was outside of a recording studio near work. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) I got you beat... and not in green. Michael Jackson. Details?
  3. cameras aside, he was humiliated in front of his teammates and told he was being sent down. I think Tracey's devastated expression says it all - it was handled very poorly.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) my football coach would have kicked my ass if i did not listen to him...tracey looks like garbage here, Adkins threw at the orioles last year when instructed. give me farnsworth or someone who can work as part of a team. he threw at him, he missed. it's not like he refused. Okay, he f***ed up - he missed! He misses the strike zone a lot too. I think the point is the public humiliation unloaded on him - it was temper tantrum, simple as that. And ozzie's lame ass efforts to shine it rather than own up to it make it even more obvious.
  5. (AP) Pierzynski was hit by pitches his first two at-bats, prompting home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi to issue warnings to both benches in the fourth. "I don't know what the deal was. He had pretty good control and then he runs two first pitches in on me," Pierzynski said. `Why did he do it? You're going to have to ask him. I faced him maybe two times in the National League." Padilla didn't comment after the game. Pierzynski took a called third strike, a pitch on the outside corner, when he batted in the sixth. Sean Tracey relieved Vazquez to start the seventh, and the right-hander got leadoff hitter Blalock out on a grounder. But White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen slammed a water bottle to the ground, brought Agustin Montero into pitch and then was seen in the dugout barking at Tracey, who pulled the collar of his jersey over his head. "I tried to get Montero ready (to face Blalock) and wasn't able to. It was a little late," Guillen explained. "It was my mistake. I didn't get him up quick enough. I didn't want Tracey in that situation." Tracey refused comment.
  6. make room for Sean Tracey. I just watched the replay of the inning on the Rangers feed and it looked like tracey was nearly in tears, no exaggeration. that's not good to humiliate a young pitcher like that. do it in the clubhouse, not in the dugout.
  7. At least someone in that dugout was pissed off besides AJ. It's games like this when I am so very grateful that Jerry Manuel is no longer here.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) He was pissed because Tracey missed. It was pretty obvious. Couldn't he also have told the bullpen that he didn't want any retaliation in a game that was essentially over because he (ozzie) didn't want to get suspended, nor can he afford to lose any pitchers? Possibility?
  9. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) well tracey certainly tried to hit blalock, but he just didnt get it done, that type of thing happens. ie shawn estes roger clemens so you're saying Ozzie was pissed he DID NOT hit him, or pissed that he tried?
  10. Truly, I'd much rather see the Sox knock this young lefty out early and post a really double digit number on the board in that boxpark at arlington. Failing that, bean the alter boy, Michael Young.
  11. MLB news says Ozzie was yelling at Tracey when he came out? I had turned it off by that point.
  12. Hendrickson has thrown 121 pitches and he's facing Shelton now with the winning run on 3rd
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) We've looked awful all night against his fastball. I was hoping it was the shadows early in the game, but I don't think it is now. i think it was no BP
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) Tigers with a 9th inning rally. pushing all the right buttons - they put Perez in at 3rd for defense and he promptly makes an error
  15. outstanding here comes a little game called 'bean ball"
  16. f*** this - javy needs to do something now. damnit.
  17. great idea to take BP indoors in the cages.

  20. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) that pitch was absolutely crushed =/ and it really wasn't a bad pitch.
  21. josh lewelen says AJ "is going to bellyache about being hit." oh brother
  22. I bet it's the f'n heat in Texas - it takes a serious toll.
