  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) ERic Wedge just went nuts for some reason. i enjoy watching that guy blow a gasket almost as much as when Earl Weaver did. He looks like he's going to kill somebody.
  2. GAME DAY said there was an injury delay, who got hurt?
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) I think you attack and hack early on in the count. If you take and take, you're gonna see a lot of called 3rd strikes. I'd rather go down swinging. I don't know - I've seen that approach by the Sox. And it ain't pretty.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) I don't know about "must see's", but Lawrence does have a pretty killer music scene. I can find out what bands are sure fire good shows if you are interested in that. that would be awesome, thanks!
  5. ESPN made a good point when they said the Yankees have figured out that the best way to beat Santana is to up his pitch count and get into the bullpen. Not that it's a lock by any stretch, but at least you don't face Satan for nine innings.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) It's very cool to see. Have a good time tonight. that avatar's cracking me up glad to see some lefties in the lineup tonight - El Diablo (Johan) isn't that much better against lefties.
  7. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 11:54 AM) However, there is one on 6th Street in Lawrence, Kansas. I'm making my first trip to Lawrence this summer for a wedding - anything that's a "must see"?
  8. The fact that LA's public transportation system absolutely blows makes it even worse. At least you have great public transit in Chicago. However, I do get a kick out of filling up next to some monstrous SUV and watching the driver's frown as the tab hits $80 for a fill up! God bless George Bush. What a piece of s***.
  9. The pregame report says he's been relying almost exclusively on his fast ball Something happen to that devastating change up?
  10. It's April :banghead Can we revisit this topic in, oh, say end of May? Once he's had two full months of big league action under his belt? Seen some pitchers on a consistent basis? Settled in? It was bad enough that people had Pods buried after two weeks into the season, but BA is a rook with serious talent. It wasn't some oversight by KW and Oz that he landed a starting job on the roster. Let's give the benefit of the doubt to the two men who won a world series championship.
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Crede's incredible contact rate (2K in 48AB) is going to take a hit tomorrow. Yeah, Santana's been unhittable so far.
  12. Maybe it's just me, but this reads like bad journalism from the sun-times. They frame the story as if KW's pissed/frustrated/impatient, but I see nothing in his quote to suggest he's pissed off. Zip. And Buehrle's already made it clear he was just goofing around. Furthermore, KW says Mark embodies everything the Sox are trying to be about. this is a non-story and a bad case of misleading the reader.
  13. only 21 K in attendance on Tuesday. c'mon, I had to find something.
  14. I know it's been said many times, but my hat's off to Don Cooper. What he's done with the likes of Jose Contreras is simply astounding. Mel Stottlemyre couldn't come close to tapping this guy's talent but Coop has helped him become one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. On another note, has anyone else noticed that Uribe has given up the left leg timing thingamujig that he started doing last August? He lifts his foot only once now instead of several times like he was doing. If it ain't broke, Juan...
  15. I completely agree with JR, players should look more like they did in the past. Say...like Oscar here:
  16. I think Bonderman is only 23, so I'll cut him some slack. I bet Mags and Pudge will read it and shake their heads. I'd rather have an ace that's cocky. Like Buehrle.
  17. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Did you see it, or just hear it from someone? Did she at least swear on the wood leg? Looking forward to seeing it in June when I come to Chicago for the yearly visit. Now if I can just figure out how to make a phony replica and swap it ... (me) "hey! look over there!"
  18. He looked good the last week in ST when he started getting some AB's, although a lot of that came from minor league pitchers. I think he'll snap out of it in Detroit. Slumps hit players at different times. He's putting wood on the ball, relax. He's not lost up there.
