  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) The first time I read this...I thought it said Uribe had returned to Foam. And sadly, it still made sense.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) Tough inning for Garland coming up. Who had the longer homer, Crede or Inge? Crede's, but he hit it higher. Inge's was a bullet that got out fast.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) cough> lack of number 3 hitter he is. the ball is up and I don't know why he's not throwing the change up more. In the first innings he was attacking the zone, now he's throwing a lot of balls. You get the feeling that one of his pitches has abandoned him, I just don't know which it is.
  4. damn everett is pathetic right now. but I have to say I do think he needs to hit his way out of it. you can't expect him to sit then pop off the bench a few days later and magically be out of his slump.
  5. kitties are hitting the ball real, real hard against Jon
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Bah. We've had the worst luck in hit and runs of late. live by the sword, die by the sword. I'm really happy to see them playing aggressive.
  7. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) that was crushed boom
  8. Tonight's lineup: Pods, LF ... Tad, 2B ... AJ, C ... PK, 1B ... Dye, RF ... Everett, DH ... Rowand, CF ... Crede, 3B ... Uribe, SS ... Gar, RHP. I wish Rowand was hitting 3rd, but go get 'em!
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) This is all about our offense. Hit the ball, score some runs and let Garland do his thing. HIT THE f***ING BALL AND WE WILL WIN I was relieved to see the sox go 7-14 with runners in scoring position on Saturday and Sunday. That's a trend I'd like to see.
  10. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Those were 4 gaes without Vlad Vlad's overrated
  11. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) To go away from the Sox for a bit, the effective cutter is what has made Mariano Rivera one of the most effective closers over the last 7-8 years. On the rare occasions he doesn't have it, he gets shelled. I concur with others, BTW, excellent question. didn't hurt that he could throw that cutter at 95 and break bats like toothpicks. He's first ballot, in my book.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) No, he just stinks. Of course this is just my wishful thinking. I don't even listen to Angel games on TV anymore. I'll see the score but 99% of the watching I do for the Angels is at the game or listening on the radio while I'm in the car. There tv broadcasts are horribly inept. Hudler = MORON And remember I'm a huge DJ fan, so for all you DJ haters that should say something. I watch a lot of Angels games and I think Hudler's pretty fun to watch and listen to. He knows all the Angels very well and has a way of explaining game situations that makes sense. He and his partner clearly do not get along that well. Hudler has corrected him a few times about stuff that happens in the game. But I think he's gone too. The Angels are marketing themselves the ever growing hispanic population in SoCal and you can bet that Rooney will have a hispanic sidekick next year. Mota? probably.
  13. God only knows how many times over the last 6 months I've looked at this last week of the schedule and wondered where the Sox would be. I'm glad it's finally here. Time to finish what they started. Boom goes the dynamite!
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Another factor, and not specific to inside, out, is moving your pitches, working the corners, keeping a hitter off balance. Something guys learn as their careers go on. It keeps guys like Maddux and Moyer pitching well past the age that others have retired. And it was an excellent question, not stupid. A great question indeed and one that points out just how good Mark Buehrle is at moving a baseball around.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) That was an awesome 10 minute stretch of Cleveland loss and Sox bats pounding the ball. yeah it was - I was going nuts. Baseball season is special, no doubt about it. I think the Indian fans are assuming Detroit has mailed it in. I don't. I think they'll get up to play spoilers this week and try to finish the season on a positive. But I also don't think it's going to matter - the Sox are a much better team.
