QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) I can't wait to see this team swinging for the fences against a big time sinker baller. Over/under on double plays by the Sox is 3. I'm looking forward to watching Westbrook pitch in a big game. The biggest game he's pitched in this season. Wouldn't want any of those sinkers to flatten out.

I'm calling blow out. A ROUTE. Westbrook gone in the 3rd, Buehrle tipping his hat after the 8th. 12-3 Sox

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) We will face liriano, baker, santana and lohse in the series. We got 2 hit by baker, santana owns us like a dirty b****, and we barely hit lohse. That leaves Liriano who hits 97, is a lefty, has a good changeup, and is someone we have never seen. Pray we hold on for the wild card. They found a way to win 2/3 in the dome by scoring only 4 runs in three games. They have to do it. They don't have a choice.

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) You definitley have to consider the Tribe just eating everyone alive lately but the fact that its down to under 5 is sad. I don't care what people say about our lead as long as we make it and I am hoping the sox want more than just to make it. Agreed.

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Not yet, we still have 5 games left with the Tribe, taking at least 3 or 4 would be good enough if we play good ball the rest of the way. Ofcourse it would be nice to just sweep them here and go on a winning streak but thats doubtful. The playoff spot will come down to the sox and tribe the last 3 games of the season with one taking the WC and the other the division. No one wants the shame and humiliation of "blowing" a 15 game lead. But at some point people are going to have to step back and accept the fact that Cleveland has played great baseball the last month and a half. I just hope the Sox stay aggressive tomorrow.

QUOTE(valponick @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) I always read "meltdown" threads on this board and I try to tell myself that I'll never let it get to that point. Well I want to make it clear that I'm not melting down, jumping off the wagon, bailing out, jumping s***, etc. I'm 24 years old, this has been the best season of White Sox baseball in my young life. I have been to 24 games this year, living and dying with the 9 Pale Hose on the field on each and every given night. This being said, right now I am having such a hard time just being a fan. It isn't because I'm pissed at Ozzie or the offense or the pitching, it's because when I watch this team I don't feel any energy, I don't feel like they have any heart. Tonight I saw glimpses of what was a great team but in the end they couldn't hold on like they were at the beginning of the year. All I want is to be in the playoffs, no matter if it is by winning the division or via the wild card. This isn't meant to be a post to stir anything up, or to say how bad the sox are playing right now, I'm just frustrated right now, just trying to hold on to the hope that this team can find whatever it is they lost and pull it together for the last 13 games. This team is not giving up. That should be obvious. If this were any of the last few years you would've NEVER seen a comeback like you saw tonight. Look, Cleveland is red hot right now. Lights out. The Sox will have to battle to beat them the next two games. They will. Count on it.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Reason #1: The Rally Crede is on our Side Reason #2: Jobu will soon be on our side (sig coming soon) I like it!! Even better than the sideburns!!

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) I really can say I have confidence in our players. Our manager will be the death of us.... Marte was lights out in Minnesota. Ozuna doubled for AJ. The only move I question tonight was Vizcaino instead of Pollite.

This loss was big, but not season ending. Get over it. The lead in the loss column is down to three. Emphasis on LEAD. But with victories tomorrow and Wednesday it can be back up to 5 with 11 games remaining. I believe in blind optimism. This is not blind optimism. Reasons to be positive? They were down 4-0 and looked like we were going to get smoked in a playoff type game. They fought back to take the lead late in the game. Carl Everett is fighting his ass off to break out of a slump and that homer to put the Sox ahead was huge. It could turn him around. Konerko hit a CLUTCH two run double. Don't blame him for what happened in the 9th against Wickman -- I'll take that match up again anyday. The Sox just need to win this series. They don't need a sweep. The Sox battled like they did in the first half of the season. Even in games they lost they still found a way to bring the tying or go ahead run to the plate and they did that again tonight against a team many think is the hottest in the league. I hope to god there's a good crowd out there again tomorrow - it made a difference tonight. To those that were there and made it electric, I salute you! DO NOT GIVE UP

a walk came around to score? SHOCKING! I'm done. Hey Hermie? :finger

good idea, put a man on base to face Hafner. walks walk walks walks walks walks walks walks :headshake

well, i guess uribe gave ozzie that good two weeks he was looking for. mercy...what a waste.

you just can't have a bullpen that walks batters as much as the sox pen does.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Sox are going to come back. I thought that was the end of the inning (that stolen base). Why the hell didn't the Sox call a high fastball when they had 2 strikes on Boone I'll never know. Still, Boone did a nice job on the pitch. I'm convinced he missed. That pitch was right in Boone's wheelhouse.

I love the fact that Damaso has gone from the dog house to the mansion in a matter of two days.

I'm not crazy about Cotts here. I'd rather see Marte.

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Phew, I was yelling at my dad that Freddy shouldn't of gone out there that inning. My dad was like, "What do you want me to do?" Glad I was wrong.
