  1. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) ye mos def, the chiefs a close 2nd I lived in San Diego for awhile and it's funny, the Raiders are by far the bolts biggest rival, and of course the biggest rival for the Raiders is the Chiefs, and vice versa. So in the AFC West, the Raiders are the biggest rival of every other team (used to be Seattle's too!)
  2. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) I heart being in Illinois-jk i kno how u feel i can only watch a handful of broncos games:( who's the biggest rival for the Broncos, the raiders?
  3. Thank you, Detroit. We needed that. Now, if the twins will stop laying down for the indians.
  4. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) No, i mean robbed by fielders, nook a few nights ago and every time i watch the game he seems to get web gemmmed 1 outa 3 nights you're right, he has gotten robbed. Doesn't look like Detroit has any intention of walking him.
  5. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) iv never seen a player get robbed like pods gets every other game, cant he just catch a break. three pitches right down the heart of the plate and just like last night, he whiffed on the 3rd.
  6. nice pick by Kong, willie was slow in turning that one.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Maybe DJ doing play by play in the 8th inning, is being groomed to be the radio PBP guy, with Stone taking over the color on TV? do you think Stone would put up with the Hawk?
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) This is shocking. I heard Rooney had a chance to go to St. Louis a couple of years ago, but remained loyal to the White Sox. I rarely listen to the games on the radio, but he's been an institution. fan movement to keep him in town? Worked when there were whispers about getting rid of Vin Scully in LA.
  9. QUOTE(spiderman @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Yeah, I also heard that - that's a shame. He's such an easy listen, and I wish he was doing Sox games for the next 10 years. All I know is they better get somebody from outside that station - I don't want to hear Jesse Rogers or some other Mike North pet getting that position. I wonder if Dave Wills is on his way back.
  10. QUOTE(Nokona @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) AM 1000 just reported that Ed Farmer will have a new partner in the booth next year. Apparently Rooney will not be going over to the score per White Sox decision. This is absolutely terrible. I quit White Sox Nation. WTF? who's the genius behind this decision?
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) He had a pretty rough night with all those errors.. Perhaps that has something to do with it? I mean, its the first time he'd ever done that badly in the field.. gotta be tough to handle. Is it just a coincidence that he's having "personal" problems that make him late for the game? Iguchi has fallen into same trap that has snared thousands of Japanese business men before him: American women. My money's on Courtney Love, but don't rule out Lindsay Lohan.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Harris seems to always get his hits in bunches and has 2 multiple hit games in a row, so you might as well ride him before he cools off. Unless Iguchi got injured last night, he appears to be fine. I still can't figure out Alan Trammell yesterday, unless he assumed Iguchi was injured. He had to know Iguchi would pinch hit against the lefty he brought in to face Harris, and since the infield was playing in, I would much rather have faced Harris with a righty than Iguchi with a lefty. Either that or walk Iguchi and have Pods face the lefty. I like Trammel the person, certainly the player, but frankly he has not impressed me as a manager. He's a very nice guy, or seems to be, I should say. And I like the idea of having all those old Tigers running the show, like the Sox do now. But I just don't know if Trammel is long for this gig.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) to say I LMAO at this is the understatement of the year!!!!
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) I don't want to call out certain posters(), but it appears the pitcher some annointed the "real deal" is infact the soft tossing pile of crap I witnesed in his last start against us. What made him different from other pitchers who've dominated our pathetic offense is our hitters beat themselves. They watched hanging slider after hanging slider cross the strike zone while flailing at offspeed pitches in the dirt. Most telling was his changeup differential from his fastball was no more than 8 miles per hour. He was throwing pure junk, and it looks like the numbers prove it. Douglass is in danger of losing his starters position on a team going nowhere. Tigers organization considers him their 5th starter for a reason. Last six starts, Douglass surrendered less than 4 earned runs ONCE. That one club was Seattle--others were contending clubs. Time to beat this scrub. I smell a first inning KO coming.
  15. I just can't fathom 20K people marching from the Superdome to the convention center -- as told to do by the mayor -- and arriving to find that NO ONE IS IN CHARGE. No cops, no officials, no water, no food, no power, stifling heat. I think it's pretty easy to see how things might slip into chaos rather quickly. How could it not?
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) This is a good lineup while everyone is hitting. Ozuna has been getting hits basically every game he plays, and Rowand is a great hitter in the #5 spot. I also like Harris in the #9 spot more than Uribe there. I prefer Iguchi hitting behind pods, always. I just like the dynamic and think it works. Obviously there is a good reason for him not starting tonight, so let's hope Willie strings together some more good AB's. I thought DJ made a good point last night that Harris is trying to turn on more balls and becoming more aggressive, rather than trying to slap the ball around. Works for me!
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Maybe he wants to stick with the same lineup that gave him 18 hits and 12 runs yesterday. I for one am not going to complain, Iguchi could use some time off and the way that this lineup performed last night, I can't doubt them. Iguchi drove in 2 with a single last night, too.
  18. why no Iguchi? Is he late again? Tonight's Lineup Pods, LF ... Ozuna, 3B ... Everett, DH ... PK, 1B ... Rowand, CF ... Dye, RF ... AJ, C ... Uribe, SS ... Harris, 2B ... Garcia, RHP.
  19. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) But all of you have forgotten the true gem of Australian culture: Priscilla Queen of the Desert!!!! To this day everytime I see Hugo Weaving I can only think of him in drag. did you ever see the lame american rip off, with patrick swayze?? :puke
  20. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) The guy got hurt, what else does he want. Cry me a river... exactly. his value to the team was that he could play more than 1b, and after he injured the shoulder he couldn't play OF anymore. WTF is this guy's problem? I'd like to see him gone. Tomorrow. Who needs this kind of selfishness in the clubhouse? Seriously, this is bad form.
  21. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) Rex has family there, and lives in a place that was harder hit than us. Just, fyi, he isn't trying to minimalize the human costs at all. . . But getting all righteous and indigant isn't really helping anyone. moi?
  22. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Awesome JOse!!! Awesome. This offense had been SMOKING!!! especially Dimitri Young
  23. pods got screwed on 2 strike calls and he looked pissed
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) Yep, and I can't believe how some people want Duque in the rotation. Even though he seems to be throwing better lately, his numbers over his last 5 starts are still real bad. A very good game for Duque still equates to about 3 runs allowed. A good game for the 4 other starters means 0 or 1 run. I just think you have to put the Duke on a pitch count. He's great the first 5 or 6 innings. Then...not so much.
