  1. sox better start playing better ball before Oakland gets to town
  2. Hendrickson's going to get yanked this inning -- I can feel it.
  3. I will be at the Twins vs. Angels tonight decked out in Sox gear, as will my four-year-old daughter. circle this Bert, you douche bag... :finger
  4. One positive: Thank god the Sox are no longer in the AL West!
  5. BULLs*** that was such a lame ass f***ing effort that I hope Ozzie rips them a new one.
  6. I love the way the Sox make mediocre pitchers like Calero look great. Nice bunt Scotty, get your face out of Dergan's pussy long enough to focus on the game, you nitz.
  7. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Even after today, Contreras' ERA is 4.34. To put that in perspective, C.C. Sabathia currently has an ERA of 4.33. That's because no matter what you say about Contreras, no matter how much you hate him, he's got WICKED stuff. Awesome stuff.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) That's true. But it seems like they don't have much wind in their sails when Contreras pitches. Like in today's game they looked pretty good through the first couple innings, then after a while they just look like they're going through the motions. I wish Herbert would come out of retirement and play some third for us.
  9. It would be nice to see some signs of life, just to make a statement for the rest of the series and next weekend -- the Sox are going to see a lot of the A's for the next week.
  10. RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY RALLY
  11. Where's that guy with that rally thing that worked so well against the d-backs???
  12. Harden's been on a pitch count of about 90 -- he's at 100 now. There's going to be a chance to come back...Oakland is just a weird place for the Sox.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Well using your logic Rowand should be batting third. I like that idea
  14. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) A player that gets on base at the clip Frank does is a perfect candidate for the three slot. Disagree, it's an RBI slot. Besides, his OBP is .328. Dye's is .323
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Besides, they'll never move him down in the lineup. It'd probably be seen as disrespect. But what's more important: a happy Frank or giving the team its best chance to win? Even he admits that he's only 70%. I say once he hits his stride (assuming he will), then move him up. I think they're hurting themselves by batting him 3rd. It's too important.
  16. I know, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but should a guy hitting .218 be hitting 3rd in the lineup? Not in my opinion. With his ridiculous home run ratio he should be batting clean up. With the way Jermaine Dye is swinging the bat over the last month I think he's a much better choice. He hits more doubles and singles and can drive in runs. Frank hasn't been a #3 hitter in a long time, IMO.
  17. QUOTE(shakes @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Funny, the game after the Sox leave town. ha! good point. he just grounded out...0 for 11 on the season so far...not that I'm keeping track!
  18. Mags is back. I predict he's on the DL again before the Tigers come to Chicago
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) I think everyone tries not to blame losses on umpires, but sometimes when it actually is their fault, and even MLB sees that (and starts some sort of investiagtion, the results of which we aren't privy to), then I think it becomes appropriate to complain about it. That series, a good chunk of it was their fault. Hell, remember the Crede @ short game? Why was he at Short? Because Oakland had pelted like 5 of our hitters in 2 games, without being warned, they threw an inside pitch to Uribe, who hurt himself twisting to get out of the way of the pitch. Why was Pablo not in? Because he was down after being hit by a pitch. Funny you should mention that -- I've been secretly hoping to see some retaliation this weekend, some good old fashioned smoke thrown inside at some of those pussies. And given Contreras' penchant for hitting batters...this could be fun!
  20. I'd give anything to see Contreras shake his head yes rather than no so often. Take the sign from AJ and throw the ball you commie defector! I think the Sox will be up for this series BIG TIME. The A's are hot and this will be a good test for the Sox to see how they match up with a team that at least is playing some of the best baseball in the league right now.
  21. Last year it was Reynolds who picked the Sox to win the division.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) Damn, I just got a flashback to Koch in Tampa on the 4th of July. I was so pissed I snapped at my wife and ruined the whole holiday, I'll never forget it. f***ing Koch...
