QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) So nice of you to be judge and jury with your last statement. Backsliding, yes. But not the way you view it. You seem very n****rdly when it comes forgiving Beckham. Obfuscation much? And did you mean backtracking and not backsliding? The use of the word "n****rdly" is intended to show someone as miserly or cheap, so how does the use of that word apply to my post? Some people's excuse for humor isn't humorous at all.

QUOTE (whitem0nkey @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) this is why it is an issue. 1.the gay community is fighting to have equal right like straight people and not be 2nd class citizens. 2.how many active gay baseball players do you know? they cant even be themselves and have to pretend to be straight in the public eye. this is the same as some one some one in 1955-1968 writing "GETZ IS BLACK! G.B.," It took a dozen comments before a voice of reason commented. It seems to be indicative of how far our society has not come, in fact backsliding. It should not be acceptable on any level to insult someone using homosexual terms. It is a sign of ignorance. Do it, if you want, but along with it's use comes a tag of ignorance. BTW, Gordon's apology is not an apology, "obviously". He's just sorry he got busted.

He should be at a Fat Farm weight loss clinic in Hawaii. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) cause he is knowlegable Agree to disagree. To me he comes off as a pompous idiot with a bad case of monotone diarrhea of the mouth. There are websites dedicated to his incompetence. I feel sorry for John Miller .

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Of course tonight we have Sunday Nigh Baseball on ESPN, which is always great. I like to listen to Joe Morgan and Jon Miller Tuesday night on WGN from Oakland Friday night on WGN from Los Angeles and a place called Anaheim Joe Morgan? Seriously? Why?

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) It was actually quite interesting yesterday on the "Steve Dahl Show" podcast of all things. Pat Boyle from Comcast Sportsnet was on, and he told Dahl that he's heard rumblings that Ozzie is gone at the end of the year, and none other than Carlton Fisk will be the new manager. I don't quite know how legit that is, but coming directly from Boyle, there just might be something to it. Fisk? Nice. Very nice. Hahn and Fisk.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 09:12 AM) If you don't like BS drama, then Mark Cuban might be the last owner you want. At least it might be a thrill ride with Cuban. Cuban is the anti Reinsdorf.
-
If I could only bust one, it would be Williams. Sell the club to Mark Cuban and start over. Reinsdorf's act is old and tired. White Sox fans deserve better, without all of the BS drama that surrounds this club.

Ridiculously long, good Posnanski article on KW.

Jenks not happy with Guillen commenting about his weight
wallyburger replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (WCSox @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 10:36 AM) I'm pretty sure that his kidney stones had little to do with him being overweight. That said, I agree that he needs to stop whining and start working out regularly. At the very least, he has ample financial incentive to do so. Kidney stones are diet related. Fatman needs to drink water and drop the soda pop and Gatorade. -

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 07:42 PM) I love that this "you are fat" letter came from a poster named "wallyburger." I don't mean this an offense to wallyburger, I just found it very amusing. Believe me when I say the burger part has nothing to do with food. . It requires imagination. I was given that nickname and it stuck. Just for reference, I, definitely, am not fat. B) -

Jenks is a fat man in denial. Dear Bob; You are fat. You have a chance to make millions or lose millions. No excuses. You are fat. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) He's not a butcher. I don't really know what that guy was talking about. I get to watch 100+ Marlin games per year. It is a common topic of discussion by fans and announcers. He will never sniff a Golden Glove. Here is an example of Hermida's problems. When it is noticed that he is showing improvement, as a fielder, that is not a glowing endorsement. He may not be a butcher, but he is a liability. He is the right fielder by default. The Marlin's OF defense is very sub par.

He is a butcher in right field.

Ozzie's act seems to go right over the player's heads. They probably stopped listening to him awhile back. Maybe Paulie took a shot at Ozzie when he mentioned he didn't like TV, Radio or kids in the locker room. Ozzie is an emotional cripple. KW and Ozzie are best at deflecting blame. They are never the reason for failure. Just wait and they will tell you. Some player needs to pop him in his vulgar and profane mouth.

Tribune article about team being "underachievers"
wallyburger replied to kitekrazy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Kenny labeled the team underachievers. He didn't say his expectations of the team he assembled were misguided and inflated. Blame the troops but not the brass. That is oh so typical of Kenny. -
QUOTE (Cubano @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) Then, I do not know where I got he was a CF. Then, I have more question. Ha, ha, ha. Who is the LF in Chi Sox history with more HR in a season? What LF has the most HR in his career? It has to be Carloses. Quentin last year and Lee. Am I missing anybody else from previous decades? Thanks, Dick "Richie" Allen. 1972 37 dingers.

Jim Landis and Tommie Agee each hit 22 in a single season for the CWS. Minoso was a career LFer.

However, I expect that will change as September wears on (if the Sox fall out further) and we'll see a lot more of T-Flow. Okay , I give. What or whos is a " T Flow "?

Manny and Big Papi tested positive for steroids in 03
wallyburger replied to LittleHurt05's topic in The Diamond Club
I actually heard an out of town sports talking heads show panel say, "steroids saved baseball" after the fans quit the game because of the strike. I can see the logic, but they thought that was the overwhelming positive aspect of steroids. All, I could think was, Wow that is screwed up if that was the reason to accept steroid and HGH use. -

Maybe Manny's lack of humility and his clown act during his 50 game suspension had something to do with the timing of this one. That traveling minor league road show he participated in had to pizzz a few off in the MLB office. May as well out Ortiz, since the 2 of them are inseparable and the guy was flat out lying to the media and fans.
